We snagged two fcfs sites about 10 am. Checkout time is 1pm, but early bird gets the site. 29-36 are fcfs always and are mostly up higher away from the lake. There’s a nice one mile path around the lake. The host did a good job keeping the pit toilets stocked and smelling good

We stayed at Tuttle Creek after the visitor center in Lone Pine said they are asking big rigs not to use the Alabama Hills to protect the ground cover. When we checked out the campground and found fast Verizon LTE and a nightly rate of $2.50 with the access pass, we decided to stay here instead. We got 4 bars Verizon with our booster and at least 10mbps (and often much more) download speeds during our stay. There is a creek that runs through the center of the campground and our site, #9, even had a little offshoot running through a culvert directly under the back of our site. All the sites seem unlevel due to the slope up to the Sierras, but our hydraulic jacks had no problem getting us level. The sites are well spaced out and have a concrete picnic table, fire ring and lantern post. There are several pit toilets (including one across from our site) and a few public water spigots. There is also a dump station with potable water, but we did not use that because we were heading to full hookups. Quiet time is 10pm to 6am. The access to Alabama Hills, Whitney Portal and the city of Lone Pine are all quick and easy. They do get busy on the weekends. The entrance road is paved with asphalt and has 5 GIANT speed bumps that are all angled and unavoidable. It says the speed limit is 10, but you have to take these at about 2mph, unless you want a good shake. There were several windy days while we were here in May. We loved our site, the outstanding view and the location at the foot of the Sierras and would definitely come back again.

Wonderful donation only campground run by the city of Concordia. We had a long pull through site with 50 amp service. It was snowy and bitterly cold so we were glad for the power. A few more rigs pulled in after us. This is a great place to stop when traveling north south through Kansas. Our 20 amp gfci on the power pole was tripped so we had to use the one for the empty neighbor site. We had screaming fast Verizon data 25-30 down and 10-15 up with no booster

We stayed two lights at the Passport America rate. It allowed us to check Death Valley Furnace Creek for first come, first served availability. We did check out the free wine tastings at two of the local wineries, which was fun. Despite giving our length, they put us in a back in site along the fence that was not long enough. Fortunately, it was wide enough for us to pull in at an odd angle to squeeze into place. Because our bedroom was backed up to a fence facing a local casino, we had to listen to truck generators all night. It served its purpose and was a good price, but we are unlikely to stay here unless other options in the area are exhausted.

Death Valley is huge. It's the biggest national park in the lower 48. Since we wanted to have enough time to explore, we really wanted to stay in the park. Being centrally located made it so we got to see pretty much everything we wanted to in our week there. We arrived on a Wednesday about lunchtime the first week of May, when it's first come, first served on sites. There were several pull-through and back in full hookup sites available. The full hookup sites are an additional $14/night, so $36 normally or $25 with the senior access pass. The sites are pretty level with asphalt roads and driveways, but dirt or gravel patios, except the handicap sites which are fully asphalted. The week we stayed was really hot a few days, really windy with dust storms a couple days and near perfect 70-80's a couple days. All of the full hookup sites are huge and could take nearly any size rig. Some of the dry camp sites are small and near trees for tents to have shade. There are several bathrooms with flush toilets and also sink stations for washing dishes or refilling water containers. You can easily walk to the visitor center from the campground. The stars were amazing and as the moon was nearly full, we took advantage for some night walks. I think the quiet hours were 10pm to 8am, but didn't pay much attention since we had power. Our only complaint was that since we were on the end site near the restrooms, people regularly cut right through our site. We used our cellular booster to get Verizon extended 3G most of the time. Death Valley is an amazing mountain park and we can't wait to come back!

What a find! This is a really gorgeous campground. Asphalt roads and parking, long sites that are well spaced and surrounded by tall pine trees. They have a full hookup loop, an electric and water loop and a dry camping loop. They also have a dump across from the entrance. Good bathrooms. Getting a satellite signal can be a challenge with the trees. The road in from the highway is 14 miles and is pretty curvy. It also climbs about 2000 feet and then descends the same amount, so take it slow. It made for a fun motorcycle ride, but not so fun in the big rig!

We stopped here on our trip from Omaha to San Antonio. The on-site manager was very helpful and friendly. We got a 10 percent discount for using Good Sam’s Club. The site and road was gravel with grass between sites. It was going down to 21 degrees so we only used electric and did not hook up our water. The site was long enough to pull through without detaching our tow car, which was appreciated. They do have free wifi, we used some and laundry/showers/playground, which we did not. It was well taken care of and I would not hesitate to recommend this park.

We booked this campground to follow a couple days boondocking in the mountains nearby. The restrooms, showers and laundry were all in great shape. It’s $3.50 to wash and dry a load of clothes and they have a signup sheet to reserve a time. The checkin process was easy as I could check in with a button on the confirmation email. The tall pines, tables and fire pits make it much more like a campground than an RV park.
