We had a full service site with no one next to us so it had good privacy. We were close to the restrooms. there is a bit of highway noise and some train activity but no bad. Staff was very helpful. We had to drive back to Deer Lodge 10 miles to the East to get gas there is not much in Garrison. Decent traveling through site but not a destination.

Father Dyer is back a bit further from Turquoise Lake than the adjacent campgrounds. However the campsites are larger and the facilities newer. We enjoyed our spacious campsite. It was about a 1/3 mile walk to the lake which as fine with us. The camp host was helpful. We would return.

Wide open space with few trees but nice views of the reservoir and mesas. Pretty crowded on the weekends. We would come here again

We did not have a reservation and arrived Sunday morning about 10:30 and had our choice of 3 sites. Typical of a forest service CG each site had a picnic table and fire pit. A few had electric and water but ours did not. Restrooms included toilet and shower. The camp host was very helpful and sold wood. The mountains views from the site were outstanding. The only negative is that the entire CG is fairly close to the highway, although at night it quieted down.

We had a very nice wooded pull thru site. The A and B sections have trees while the other sections are void of trees and open to wind etc. Well maintained and clean. Campsite pass provides access to all the other areas of the park without a reservation. About 8 miles to Estes Park.

We had an excellent campsite at Lakeview with an amazing view of the lake and mountains and good spacing. It was clean and quiet. Dan the host was extremely helpful and attentive. Good hiking nearby and not far to the tiny village of Twin Lakes. We would definitely come here again

We camped here in later May so it had just opened for the season. We had a very nice campsite close to the Dolores river. Camp host was excellent and facility is well maintained. Good access to Lizard Head Wilderness hiking and 20 miles to Telluride.

We camped here in early May when sites were only available first come first serve. We were concerned about getting a campsite so arrived at 8:30 am on a Thursday. Turned out numerous sites were available. We selected a very spacious drive through site which was not far from the restrooms and had good shade. The campground is very central to all the park amenities and sites and not far from the Town of Bryce. We very much enjoyed this campground.

This is a rather unique CG. Owned by the State of Colorado, you need a CO hunting or fishing license and that is the cost of admission. My wife and I both have resident fishing licenses, which we showed to the camp host and he said "Pick a site and enjoy yourself" We picked a drive-thru site with an unobstructed view of the Sand Dunes, 10 miles to the East. Each site has electric, a picnic table a fire pit and a metal canopy for shade and wind. There is no water anywhere on the property. There is a trash dump and a dry sewer dump. We were told there were rest rooms but did not use them. I think this would be challenging site for tent campers. Sites are spaced pretty far apart. Only two issues we had. When we first sat outside we got bitten up by little bugs that we suspected were no-seeums. We put bug spray on our legs and arms and were fine for the rest of the trip. The other issue was just bad timing. On the first night at about 2 am we work up hearing loud base type music. It did not seem to be very close but we heard it go on until 4 am. The next day another camper told us he called the Sherif twice, who came out and warned the campers twice but each time he left they started up the music again. The offenders left early the that morning. The next night was very quiet. What we liked most were the views of the dunes and mountains, beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

We were not able to get into the North Rim or Demotte campground so we stayed at Jacob Lake. The campsites are basic and ours did not have any shade. It was very windy when we were there so instead of cooking outside we eat the lodge across the street. The drive to North Rim is 40 minutes.
