Still in the off season the price is 14 for electric site. They have 20,30&50 amp hookups. Our pedestal looks to be very new also so that's a plus. The dry camping loop is only $8 a night right now in the off season. Easy access of hey 50 and a lake view. Only negative is cell reception is just ok. No 4G or LTE on Verizon or att.

Family of 5 + dog, 35’ travel trailer, reservations.gov specified we booked full hookups, arrived on site May 13 and camp ranger told us they’ve never had full hookups. No shade, no view, one new ranger told us showers were in each bath house and has been turned on last week. Older grumpy ranger corrected him and said they were inoperable due to frozen pipes. Needless to say we didn’t even stay, went to The Tall Taxan 20 mins into Gunnison which was a Wonderful private campground with excellent facilities. Only positive is fully paced and if you’re a boater.

To clear up any confusion from previous reviews... Elk Creek has 4 loops, 3 are dry camping only (A, B, & C -$16 a night) and 1 has electric only (D - 30 amp and 50 amp - $22 a night). Loops A and D can be reserved online, B & C are FCFS, and it's clear that loop D is the newest with the largest, most spacious, and very easy to access sites (C looks to be the most cramped). There is any easy to access dump station with separate rinse and drinking water prior to entering the campground, and they also provide dumpsters and bathrooms.
Larger RVs will fit into some of the campsites (don't believe the online map indicating site size with squares, triangles, and circles), and the reservation website seemed to provide accurate site length information. We just fit with our towing truck tucked perpendicular under the nose of the trailer, but we could not open our garage (we would have damaged the scrub plants, etc).
The sites are well spaced, and while there aren't any trees, it felt fairly private to us. The surrounding reservoir and mesas are nice scenery, and the campground is close to a number of nearby hikes with an easy drive to downtown Gunnison. The campground was very quiet with a few generators starting a little early some mornings. The only drawback for us was 0 cell service through T-Mobile (the booster couldn't help us). Though we heard from other campers that AT&T worked and Verizon was spotty.

OK campground.
Disclaimer: We stayed in mid September, so weather is probably consistent with the season.
Very windy and no real break from it. Very few trees. We stayed in the D loop which has electric only. $14.00 ($8.00 without electric) a night with National Park pass. Sites were paved with good access. Not super level, but not too far off. Saw a few mule deer in the morning. We didn't stay due to the weather, 27* in the morning and mid to upper 60's in the afternoon. Really didn't take advantage of the reservoir as planned.
It is worth the small fee and we would stay again.

Uncrowded in September with beautiful views. Chamisa was blooming throughout the campground.

Nice campground with concrete pads, the bathroom was clean but did not have showers in D loop and the showers available within the campground were not clean. The NPS places the responsibility of clean showers on an outside vendor, time for a new vendor! Located next to Hwy. 50 however, little to no noise at campsite. Many destinations within short drives of the campground to experience. Electricity is available at the campsites and potable water available at the dump station.

Stayed for 4 nights in early October 2019. Campground was very clean and pretty sparse when I arrived on a Wednesday in the first week of October, which was nice. More people arrived on Friday for the weekend but the place was still probably only 25% full, and only in Loop D, which has electric hookups. Sites are level and all include a picnic table and fire pit.
A huge pro is that you are right next to the reservoir and have easy access to all kinds of activities there: fishing, boating, SUPing/kayaking, etc. There's even a sand beach.
One negative is connectivity. Verizon signal was pretty bad here, so I had to "commute" to Gunnison and work at the library or McDonald's for wifi. My booster didn't work well enough for me to get a fast signal here. It's about a 25-minute drive one way to Gunnison, so not incredibly close.
Another watch-out if you come late in the season: the dump station was still open when I left but they shut the water off without putting up any signage, so I had to go elsewhere to rinse and refill with potable water.

We stayed here for one night after dispersed camping several nights in southern CO. We arrived on a Saturday night and was still able to snag a spot. The campground was almost full, so I was apprehensive and not looking forward to it. It was a pleasant surprise. The $16 fee was 100% worth it to have access to a dumpster, great cell service, dump station, and potable water refill. The camp host was very friendly and welcoming.

We had the best time here. The campground was barely half full, which made for a pleasant experience. It's very clean, quiet and peaceful. Our site was a short walk to the lake and it was so empty that we could let our dogs off leash to run. It is a bit of a drive to Gunnison NP, but it was worth it to us.
