Arrived just before sundown. The road must be taken slowly, washboard will shake your creamer into sour cream. Saw a few cars that had no camping equipment. Trash was plentiful. I finally found a decent spot just past a curve. Trash was present down a slope near my site. At @ 3:30 am a motorcycle came in at a good speed and down the road. 20 minutes later a car came speeding out of the road past me. 5 minutes later cam the motorcycle behind it. I’m thinking illegal drug activity. Since I didn’t have my firearm, we decided to leave. As I was a headed out another car came racing in past me. Lack of cell coverage makes it more concerning. I would not recommend this place for those not armed. The views are beautiful and the stars were beautiful at night.

Easy access and paved level pads make this location a traveler’s dream. It’s located adjacent to Lucy park and a short walk to the Falls. We even picked up a half pound of pecans on our walk in the park. Cell service is 3 bars and off air tv stations are many. Close to the highway yet very quiet after 10 pm. Extremely safe for single travelers and families.
Bring exact change and seal your envelope before placing in thin slot.

The ever growing metroplex is moving in. This city park is a fantastic site for all your business in the mid cities and southern metro area. In 25-30 minutes you can be anywhere in the Midlothian Mansfield and HEB Arlington Fort Worth area.
The staff is friendly kind and full of good information. The entrance is manned/womaned around the clock. All access is controlled for safety reasons. A few of the bathhouses have been updated and provide for a more comfortable shower.. drive around and find one if the one in your location is not. This place is clean maintained and perfectly located. We took a 2.5 mile hike around the grounds just before a huge storm hit the area. It’s well worth the money. FYI, plenty of good restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Tip; Hwy 360 south of I20 is a toll road, but service is free and easy to use with few lights. Not worth taking toll road north to I20 or south to 287. Inside I20 it’s free.

I needed a place to spend the night after attending a football game in New Caney,TX. I made the reservation without problems. I arrived late Saturday night and was greeted by the owner. She opened the closed office to allow me to purchase snacks and drinks. The park is a hidden gem in the deep east Texas area. They reserve at least five spots for overnight campers. It’s interestedly decorated beautiful and clean. The showers and laundry area are spotless and well maintained. A small lake with areas for fishing and sightseeing along with a pool are some of the amenities offered. A kids area with plenty of playground equipment is located in a large common area near the pool. If you’re in this part of EastTX and need a goodnight rest, this RV Park will not disappoint.

Everything all the other reviewers said in addition to excellent camp host. They know the area and can provide great recommendations. Don’t miss out on nearby hot springs. Make reservations early or they’ve booked. The town of Paonia @45 minutes away has a great downtown area, cherry, strawberry and blackberries picking along with wine tasting. Several wineries in the town for wine tasting. The Inn At Redstone and the small museum offer free WiFi. Take advantage since no cell coverage exist in the entire valley. If you’re using a tv satellite locator, sites 11,12 have a clear shot of the southern sky.

The bad first. Close to the road, no enforcement, shower heads and controls are in need of replacement.
The good. Small yet plenty of space between sites. Plenty of showers and clean restrooms. The river is close and provides a beautiful view. The hiking in and around the dam was challenging and lacking in humans. Saw plenty of wildlife.
Warning: I don’t know if this is common but we encountered a squatter upon return to our site after heading to Hot Springs. We have a class C and unhook upon leaving. Our card with reservation information was clearly on the post. He had his tent set up and belongings all over our site. He provided five different stories before moving to an open site. He never paid and the enforcement officer never came. It may be that locals have learned that enforcement is not present. Be aware. The sites are visible from the road and items left unsupervised may acquire a new owner.

Arrived @ 8 pm and was greeted by an impressive herd of bison. The large male quickly made his dominance known with his positioning and grunts.
The next morning we biked the 10 mile round trip to the tunnel. It was hot but the trip was well worth it. We saw bats and a couple of snakes. On the way back out of the tunnel a large snake was having a mid morning snack of murciélago. I was able to get a great video.
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
Bathrooms are worn and dirty. Lots of broken and nog functioning items. Faucets, shower heads, curtains and toilets. Bugs and trash very evident. I love the place but the shower facilities need attention.

Arrived after 10 pm and had a very difficult time finding my site. After the fourth time around I stopped at a spot where I believed it was located. The camp host arrived and confirmed it’s located. The small sign was covered by vegetation and the site was narrow leaning and a huge pothole at the most unfortunate area. I pulled straight in and had to stretch my power cord under the RV to reach power box. If had backed in, the RV door would have been blocked by a four foot stacked rock wall. The loop where 19,20,21 and 23 are located is extremely tight uneven and should be dedicated for tent campers. The rest of the park is spacious and well setup. The camp host and his wife are friendly and helpful. I found a private park near Eureka Springs and booked my last two nights there. The road leading to park is very steep and winding. As usual, the locals drive it at top speed.
