Camp for free up to 14 days. No hook up, but flush bathrooms and showers (only 1 of 4 was working during my stay-cold water only).
Many sites have Ramadas/tables and grass. Lots of trash dumpsters.
The nearest anything is 20 minutes away (as in anything!).
Loved the beach and people.

Up to 14 days free camping, 75’ from the water. Good solid ground to drive and camp on (crushed shells).
If no wind, no waves (it’s a bay). But usually wind and waves.
Bathrooms were old but clean. Several individual showers but only 1 working. Only choice is cold water.
Plenty of dumpsters, and some sites are off the water a little, having grass and Ramadas/tables.
20 minutes from any store or any business.

Beautiful National Forest area on Schnebly Hill Rd.
Easy access. I went east of I-17, about 1 mile. Why go further? Pulled in on a Friday night and only saw a few vehicles go by.
My 24’ Class C RV towed my car, hauling a mini-bike in without a problem.
Noise from I-17 is audible, but even though only a mile away, is not bad at all.
Lots of great wood on the ground for weeks of campfires. The site I pulled into had a nice fire ring and wood ready to go.
On StraightTalk Wireless (showing TracPhone, but using Verizon towers), my LTE signal was always 3 out of 4 bars on my phone.
My RV “jet pack” using a Verizon data card, pulled in all 4 bars, thanks to the Winegard 360* antenna on the roof.
Love this place.
70*F temps during the day in early November, with 40’s at night.
Beautiful tall trees and lots of trails and dirt roads off the main road, to explore.

I didn’t go all the way to Raymond Tank, but was about 1/4 Mike before it. Easy access off the I-40 at Bellemont.
Dozens and dozens of roads off tge main “power line” road, to camp. All in nice forest area.
Pretty good cell service. Streamed videos all the time.
Numerous fire rings around. Barely a car or two a day maybe driving by.
High winds when I was there, blowing lots of dirt. But the weather in May was perfect.

This is NOT Schnebly Hill Rd. That is the same exit off I-17, but going west. That is open year round, and the road is very rough.
This is the road going east, and is pretty smooth for miles.
Lots of places to pull off, and the further you go, the further from the I-17 you get. I didn’t know any better and pulled into a spot a few hundred yards in. So I could hear the freeway noise 24/7, as it was only .2 miles away. But I didn’t mind.
Tons of downed trees already cut up for fire wood. Great cell service with Verizon. Camp spots are far apart (hundreds of yards), and east drive to Flagstaff (25-35 minutes). But Munds Park has basic goods if needed.
Weekends do have lots of campers with ATV’s that drive super fast. This is a very dusty area.

Only a couple miles off the I-40. Paved road into the area, only becomes slightly bumping dirt road coming into camping area.
I was .3 miles from paved road. Had 3 out of 4 bars on Verizon.
Every turn off from main dirt road opens into 2-10 camp spots.
Yes it’s dusty, but loved the cows grazing all around me and the sound of a deer calling out for a few hours.
Large pinion trees all around, up to like 30’ in height. My cat loved “hunting” for birds and bugs.
Very clean, but I did pick up a little trash-not much at all though.
Fire rings throughout, although there was fire van during my May 2022 stay. Will definitely come back.
If you have 4x4, you about double your camping location opportunities.
My 24’ Class C towing my SUV made it in easy as can be. Such great weather. And only about 11 miles into town-Flagstaff.

Easy access for large RV’s and trailers.
Pull in off Lucky Lane.
Non potable water-bring your own hose.
I have used this twice in the last two weeks.
Free and easy.
Bathroom in store for customers-make sure you patronage them!

I made reservations online for the “water only” site at $10/night. After fees, it averaged $14/night. $14/night is the price for water and electricity, so image that’s then higher too online.
The way to go is the “open camping” (boondocking) way. Just come in, pay like $8 at the front gate, then park anywhere by the lake (these are the closest spots!).
With that, there is no Ramada and table plus a fire pit. I can be ok with that. There is potable water at the dump station.
The views are great.
