Colorado Bend offers many camping and hiking options. We stayed at Windmill backpack area. Campsites were about 1 mile into the trail. There were 8 remote sites, note:no water or toilets. This was a great experience saw deer, armadillo, and heard the coyotes howling at night. We hiked to Gorman Falls, very pretty. We would definitely come back. There is a $5 per person day use fee in addition to the campsite fee. Book online as these sites book quickly.

Free camping, on the water, near the restrooms, next to some really nice folks. We had plenty of room to ourselves, yet chatted it up w some locals who make a habit of hanging here. I can definitely see why. We will be back!!

We got in late and found many sites available. Only stayed one night. Wish we could have stayed longer. Park offers lots of activities and is horse friendly. 2 lakes, hiking, kayaking, fishing.

Got in late, pouring rain, no reservation. Camp Ranger was super helpful, got us into an overflow spot which has power and water. Bathrooms were very clean.
