Did some LNT maintenance, which is why I have it 4 stars. ACR host alerted us of rising lake levels of 10’ overnight so I moved to higher ground, campground is closing 6/2 was water to reseed. I’d been in trouble at site 9. Thanks Mark!! Overall pleasant experience.

The campsites are right up on the water with a great open view of the lake. The sites have a fair amount of space between one another so you have plenty of privacy. Has a fire ring, grill, picnic table with roof for shade, running water, toilets, boat ramp, cell service, and plenty of good places to throw a tent. It is completely free with a stay limit of 14 days. Every site has its own personal beach area and mine had its own little cove/peninsula as well. I definitely recommend this place.

No amenities other than water, pit toilets and a dumpster. But the views are spectacular. Park was closed due to flooding until July 1st and the debris was still evident everywhere.
We came late and left early, so barely saw anything except from the roadway.
It appeared that several of the campsites were being taken over by groups of homeless people with RVs and blue tarps (it had been raining a lot). And a crumbling 1970’s Class C was being towed into the park by a decrepit mini-pickup as we were leaving.
Still, it was quiet and beautiful. Definitely be back with family and friends in the future.

This is a great spot to camp for a day or for the limit. If you like to fish or stay by the site and take in the view. This is the place for you. The bathrooms are good. They have potable water for almost each site.
There are deer around a lot especially at night or early morning. The spiders and insects are pretty bad. They will get into anything that is not closed and left outside.
Most of the time it was windy so having a fire wasn’t in the cards.
The only con about this site (but doesn’t have to do with the site itself) is that there was a camper who just let his dog off leash and the owner never came outside of the camper. He let other people control his dog. I couldn’t take my dog for a walk without his dog coming up and bothering us. I get your dog is trained not to leave the area but we should not have to deal with your dog because you won’t. And yes, I talked with the owner and he drought the dog inside for a while but then just let him out again. I or we shouldn’t have to advise you that your dog is being a nuisance. It is your responsibility as a dog owner to keep an eye on your dog.

This place was an absolute gem! It felt off the beaten path, as in the closest town was about 30 min away. The scenery was absolutely stunning! Lots of spots right on the lake. When you first get into the campground the road splits. Both ways have camping spots and both ways have a vault toilet. Most spots had water spigots. Not sure if they worked as I never used them, however.
I do feel it's important to clarify that Campendium lists "flush toilets" as an amenity for this place, but they are simply pit/vault toilets.
There were a ton of deer in the area, and my dog would get really excited when he picked up their scent. On the last night I stayed there the wind was so intense that it broke my canopy tent and I had to put everything else away as I was worried it would all blow away. Be forewarned that the wind doesn't come to play there sometimes!
My only real complaint (if you even want to call it that) was that it was a fairly popular place. Lots of day traffic with fisherman and picnickers, and even lots of trailers camped out there. It's a first come first serve, so just keep that in mind when planning your arrival. It was quite crowded on the weekend.

The was very nice looking and clean. We were able to find a site without issue. Site 11 is close to a water spout but not close enought to connect our water hose up to it. People did drive through the park and some were there for day use only. All in all we will certainly stay there again.

This is a beautiful spot on the lake. The designated sites are spacious and well spaced. Lots of waterfall birds, and turtles to be found. There was a strange four hour long barking of a pack of dogs at night. In the morning the dogs were quiet– go figure.

I stayed the full 14 days over the course of a month at different times. My longest stay was 8 days. Recently had to call the police on someone harassing us. Always have to clean up someone elses trash before I even set up camp. Volunteers told me they don't have their own ranger so if you have issues just dial 911. Very windy.

The sites are big and the view is great. I ended up moving to the smaller camping area (take a left a bit after entering the park) it was less windy there. I was the only camper. A little traffic from folks driving to and from the boat ramp. A family of deer was around often. It was nice. I was told by the park staff (over the phone) that the water is potable so I filtered and filled up here.
