Despite being a small park, they escort each RV to their site and assist with backing in. Our guide (Blake?) was super friendly and thanked us multiple times for coming to stay. Site 28 had a beautiful mature cottonwood tree, so we were in the shade from 10 AM thru the rest of the day. Our site was long enough for our 36' 5th wheel and F250 (disconnected), and the lot was nice and wide.
We did not eat in La Veta, but did take our pup to the Dog Bar in Cuchara for a couple of beers and some appetizers (leashed dogs welcome on the patio).
Be sure to take the drive south on 12 towards Cuchara to see the radial dike (rock wall) formations.

Beautiful park 2 miles off the highway - Google Maps was spot on with the directions. The lots are spacious and nestled among the pines. The hosts are incredibly friendly and thankful for your visit. Guides escort you to your site pointing out speed bumps, trees and turns along the way. Our site had plenty of room to park the rig and disconnect the truck. We had a very large patio area next to a beautifully terraced rock wall with native plants and flowers. We will most certainly be back to stay again!
