The thing we really loved is you can walk right in to Main Street and enjoy some cute shops, restaurants and nice small town feel. We met some really nice people and LaVeta has quite a few local artists. In fact, we were there for their Friday Art Stroll which was great fun. It's also very close to some great high elevation hiking at the Spanish Peaks and the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. We also visited Great Sand Dunes National Park while we were there.
The laundry facility is nice, the water was clean and the other park residents were friendly. There a quite a few who reserve for the whole summer which gives the park a nice community feel.
PROS:
Great location to a cute small mountain town
Walkable to restaurants and shops
Easy access to the highway without being on the road
Central location to great hiking in the surrounding mountains
Friendly owners
You will see deer and sometimes bears
CONS:
Can feel packed-in
Laundry was a little expensive

Great stay. Easy to get to, easy to navigate once in the lot. The hosts guided us to help back our rig in - the sites are 90 degree back in. Sites are gravel, flat and wide. Convenient to downtown LaVeta. Not a problem, but we did have to back all the way up for our sewer hose to reach. Full hook up’s were great. Lots of WiFi connection options and we were able to stream most of the time. Convenient to Cuchara, Walsenberg and a number great views! The great dikes (large natural stone walls) were impressive and close by. Would stay here again

Friendly/helpful manager
No street noise
Location on map is wrong. It is actually on 2nd street just east of the creek
Do not approach from west over creek as there is concrete blocks forming protection when in flood conditions

Despite being a small park, they escort each RV to their site and assist with backing in. Our guide (Blake?) was super friendly and thanked us multiple times for coming to stay. Site 28 had a beautiful mature cottonwood tree, so we were in the shade from 10 AM thru the rest of the day. Our site was long enough for our 36' 5th wheel and F250 (disconnected), and the lot was nice and wide.
We did not eat in La Veta, but did take our pup to the Dog Bar in Cuchara for a couple of beers and some appetizers (leashed dogs welcome on the patio).
Be sure to take the drive south on 12 towards Cuchara to see the radial dike (rock wall) formations.

Arrival was great! The camp owner assisted with backing the trailer. All spaces are back up. The is plenty of everything here, wide deep spaces, high shade trees, plenty of WiFi. A clubhouse and bathhouse with all the amenities. Very clean.
Location is on the Cuchara River. You are very close to the Legend of Highways, which travels from La Veta to Trinidad. We came here for the fall colors and were not disappointed.
The WiFi is strong enough to stream without difficulty.
No negatives at this site.
One of the finest locations we have stayed at this year.

No longer called Circle the wagons. This is WeRvChampions of La Veta
We had site 30. Perfect for Starlink, talking to the deer right behind your site. The little river walk is very nice for dogs or yourself. Easy walk to up town La Veta or driving to any of the beautiful sites around.
The owners greeted us there and they were super nice and very much involved in all things with the business.
100% will stay there again, can’t wait to be back

They are now called We RV Champions RV park. We had a FHU back in site. Sites aren't real big, but the the campground is pretty easy to get around in. When you come off the main road, it looks like you are going into a dumpy area, but the campground is very nice with great staff. Maybe not a lot for kids to do but a good home base for exploring. Note: it is an hour to the entrance of Great Sand Dunes NP, so be prepared (we thought it was closer!). Alamosa is a fun college town to visit, its another 30 minutes west from the NP.
We stayed there in mid-September in a 30 foot MH.
