We loved our stay here in early late November and early December. The road in was perfect for all sized rigs.

We stayed on the northside of the road about a mile before you get to the Wildlife Refuge sign. Lots of wide open spaces and plenty of great spots to choose from.

Some highway noise (Hwy 95) during the day and artillery blasts coming from nearby Yuma Proving Grounds occasionally.

It's about a 25 minute drive to Quartzsite for water, dump, or propane refills which are abundant especially this time of year. However, it is much quieter that the LTVA just outside Quartzsite.

This was the third state park we stayed at on our way down the Oregon coast and was by far our favorite.

It was extremely clean, had more open space so it didn't feel as cold and dark as the other two parks, and staff seemed to enforce the rules so we felt better about leaving our stuff out and exploring.

The short walk to the ocean for the different beaches, sunrises, sunsets, and just to hear the surf was amazing! We would definitely stay here again and can't recommend it enough.

Site 34 is a right angle site, so it's a bit tricky to get into especially if the neighbor across the street is in their site. Thankfully when we arrived it was empty so we pulled forward into that site then back into 34 at a more reasonable angle.

If you can get on the A loop you will get the most sunshine and least amount of shade (depending on which season you visit you may want it the other way around) so in the fall it was perfect!

We stayed here to be close to the town of Ajo and the amenities/activities taking place in February.

As mentioned in other reviews cell service is spotty here due to the hills between the camping area and town. Walking around the area changes the reception drastically.

Lots of good sites for rigs of all size but as always scout ahead before taking off on the side roads. Main road was well maintained and easy to get in and out of even after a couple of evenings of rain.
