Confirmed by 10 users | Last reported on May 10, 2024Harris Beach State Park is a beautiful place. The campground has a variety of sites (tent camping, yurts, and RV sites with water, electric, and sewer). The most popular sites have oceanfront views, and the back end has some road noise, but there seemed to be no really bad sites. Check in was simple, firewood was available, but given recent wildfires around the state, we opted to enjoy the dark. There were two camp hosts, and the place was clean and friendly. It's close enough to Brookings to get OTA tv reception.
The B Loop, where we stayed, was toward the back of the campground and had very spacious, private sites. We were in B1, which is next to a Junior Ranger camp and amphitheater, but there were no junior rangers or events to be found, so we had no neighbors at all on one side.
The beach itself is gorgeous. We stayed here on our way back to Portland from the Redwoods, and would have gladly stayed longer if our timing had allowed.

This park sits right above beach, nice walk down a couple trails or on the road that takes you to day use park( free) right on beach with restrooms. Very busy at sunset. They are going thru some construction in campground so check to see what loops are open before you go. Right now only a few sites are reservable. The premier sites are in the A loop but they are first come and go quick. When this park is all done with there refurbishing it will be a go to campground. There is some highway noise but it really quiets down at nite

This place is lovely! I bet it fills up fast in the summer. Big Long spots, we lucked out and got a full hookup spot right on the top with a view of the ocean from the airstream! Bathrooms and showers are really clean and the shower rooms are heated which is awesome for January! Beach is right down the road down a quick trail with amazing rocks to climb and hike around.
They are currently working on renovating about half the park, so many spots are closed and you may hear a little construction or digging sounds during the day but it wasn't that distracting or annoying at all. We would have stayed longer than 3 days if we weren't on a schedule to get somewhere for work. Totally recommend this park! We will be back. $32 full hook up, $30 electric, $20 no hook up, yurts also available but I'm not sure the cost. There is firewood for sale from the camp hosts for $5 in the park.

We were on a 5 week trip across the US to see national parks and bucket list items-and this campground and location held its own!! The campground is in great proximity to hiking trails and beach access. Great PNW experience. Our campsite was private and had a lot of greenery (lots of poison ivy/oak too😬). Not the best site at the campground but we were happy with it when it wasn’t raining. Would come back!

Harris beach is gorgeous! And the campground is pretty great too. With ocean views from some sites and nestled in the trees for other sites. Sites are very big and quite private too. Sites and campground were very clean and well cared for with a large team. I wouldn’t pick a spot backing up to the 101 as they are noisy.
There is so much to do you won’t need your car while here. We biked, swam, hiked, played in the sand and rick pools, and blackberry picked (August!). They are very strict about your departure time. Our toddler was napping which delayed us a little and that definitely wasn’t appreciated. But they were able to get us in early which was wonderful. We’ll be coming back here forever!
Full hook ups are great and we also used the dump station here later on our trip.

This is a nice RV site but no access to shower during pandemic. Also no campfire allowed when we stayed there. Trail to beach is nice and only took us 10 mins to walk to beach in the morning. Highly recommended.

Only here for one night but will return for a longer stay! Very clean and well maintained State Park, one of the nicest that we have stayed in. Most spaces are large and private, we stayed at A21 which had a tree filtered view of the spectacular coastline and beach. Plenty of great hiking trails and beaches to explore.

10-8-2020 Another Oregon State Park 1 nighter for us on a RV road trip. This is a big Campground right close to the beach. But most sites are set back in the Spruce forests. Its a very popular place with a lot of people spending their whole vacation here. So reservations highly recommended. Showers were closed due to covid, as are all Oregon State Parks. All the one nighters "first come first serve" were put in the tent "C" loop (no hookups). No other sites were available. You literally had to leave the next morning. No 2 nights.
This camp is very convenient to Brookings just minutes away so its what I call "city camping".
Just a heads up: It is right next to Hwy 101 and you can hear road noise 24/7. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc Even logging trucks using their Jake brakes as they come down the hill into Brookings. So personally I wouldn't want to stay here any longer than overnight.

We thought we were being smart and picked campgrounds at the back of the campground. But we didn't realize that the campground backs right up against Highway 101. From our site, we could see the large trucks over the shrubbery. Even these sites weren't bad, as traffic frequency lessens at night. Sites were paved and level. We would definitely come again!
