Over night stop on the way to the beach. Convenient to I85. Campground is nothing special. We were met at the entrance by a very friendly lady who led us to our pull-thru site. Sights are close together. It is located next door to public ballfields. There is a lot of highway noise. The price is way high. On the way back we are overnighting at Chewacla State Park, right across the road, for $29 with WES. I wish I had found it first.

Sites are not “piled up on each other”. Lots of wildlife. We fished, we crabbed, we walked and toured the fort. Overall great experience.

We only overnighted here on return trip from the beach. I really like this park. It looks older but is well kept. It was quiet and dark. Just what we like for an overnighter. Sites are spacious and well spaced. Check in was quick and easy, staff was friendly. Great internet too. About 5 minutes off I-85 at exit 51, Auburn, AL.
On the way down to the beach we stayed directly across the highway from this park at a commercial campground. It was not nearly as nice as Chewacla and cost more than twice what Chewacla does.y

Check in was crowded but staff was friendly and handled it well. Overall smooth process. This place is huge. Can’t say much that hasn’t already been said.
I didn’t bring my e bike because rules say no e machines. Found out you can ride them on campground streets, parking areas etc. just not on the trails. I should have called and gotten clarification.
Five of the eleven bathhouses are closed for rebuilding. We don’t use them so no effect on us.
Went to a nature presentation on local owls and other birds at the nature center. That was lots of fun.
Internet was just ok. Good early but slower in the evening.
