This is a small campground on a hilltop that offers shady lots, a fishing pond, a small pool, wooded areas for hiking, some playground equipment, horseshoe pits and peace and quiet.
The electricity 30-50 and water was good. Not sure about the WIFI. I’m camping not working. I had 3 bars of 5G ATT. That will stream anything.

I was visiting family close by and stayed because of the location.
Yeah, the 1.5miles of gravel to get to it was dusty as all get out but drive slow. The road coming up the hill to the office is pretty bumpy. Take it easy and you’ll be fine. You can find faults in any campground. This is kind of a hillbilly resort but nice and peaceful.

If you’re a high maintenance camper you will probably be disappointed.
If you love trees and quiet time. You might want to consider this place.

It’s a nice quiet campground. Not many frills but we don’t need many. Lots of shade. The lots are sparsely spread pea gravel. They could have more grass but the leaves made up for it. The back RV row has tons of room for you 40’ers and camping gear! The middle and river sites were a little tighter. They have pastures with sheep ,fallow deer, elk, llamas, miniature horses and elk with an asphalt trail going around them. Townsend has a completely level bike trail around the city along the River. And it’s a great town to stay in to plan your Smoky Mountain adventure.

We were lucky enough to get a creek side lot and get our 30’ travel trailer parallel with it. It gave us great privacy and shade to go along with the benefits of a running stream right outside your door. Water pressure a little weak. They had a few spots for your 40’ rigs. Overall, it was a nice quiet campground in town with accommodating host.

We came here for the air show in Wichita and ended up enjoying the camping way more. We arrived about 10pm in this first come first serve part of the state park and several sites open. This park is very popular with the locals and full time RVers.
The campground was very nicely laid out with shaded spacious sites. The most sites if not all, are big rig friendly. The town of El Dorado is 10 minutes away with a full array of big city stores.
Definitely would recommend!!!
