We were in site # AB. It backed up to the road yet was nice other than the traffic. The traffic slowed down at night. The owner Laurie is nice and her staff was great. Roger was a big help with us getting into the site & settled. The site we were in you need 2 water hoses so he brought us a second one. It was a little tight backing in yet the site was big.

We had water & electric and the dump station is in town on the way out. It's at the visitor center and there is a small fee for using it. There is a bar & restaurant onsite. They aren't open all week yet more towards the weekend. The food is good and the bar (the loose Moose) had lots of people in it. Love the fried beets and wings. They have entertainment on the weekends. The girls working in the bar were busy working hard to keep everyone happy.

There is a big pull through site near our site you get the entire road and several sites.

There is a small boat launch onsite and a captain that does moose boat tours. The cabins looked nice too there are several on the water. The lodge is very nice too.

Next door is the Northern Woods trading post. Great lobster l, oysters, charcuterie platter and a good Margarita. The little store has some nice souvenirs and meats, cheeses, pizzas, sandwiches and drinks.

Onsite is Northern outfitters they take people white water rafting. You can do it right from the campground. People do come from all over to raft there. Across the street on the other side of the dyke there is a small swim beach and a sea plane ride operation.

As you leave the campground and you go right Baxter state park is on the same road and not far from the campground. There is a swim beach at Baxter and hiking trails. Mt Katahdin is close by. The park is mostly dirt road yet not bad. It was $16.00 to enter the park for a day. If your going to go into the park 3 times or more buy the pass it's cheaper.

Across the street from the campground we took the Golden road north to compass pond for a bit. People were picking wild blueberries. We were looking for moose around the bogs.

To the left leaving the campground there is a place called River divers which had specials on their meals. People were not too excited about the food but they had an excellent spicy margarita.

There's not much in town but we needed a hardware store and found one and grocery stores.

We arrived in Mid July it was 96 out. We had been in Colorado for 6 weeks & first heat wave we hit. Our site was very big with a great view of the lake & mountains. Camp hosts were wonderful people. There's an area in the state park with Full hook up but we wanted to be close to the lake. The lake was down so you couldn't walk down to launch the kayak we went to the boat ramp to do so.

We kayaked almost every day my husband loves fishing he caught a few nice Northern Pikes. We had a go fast boat come by us & just about swamped us. They come several times a week and take kids skiing. We pulled of on the island my husband was wading along shore & they full speed ahead (big wake) filled the kayak with water & soaked everything.

Rifle Falls is close we spent a few days there, hanging near the falls where it was cool. Take a book & a chair and relax. There is a campground at Rifle Falls to but busy with people coming in & out to the falls. There are 3 falls one you can walk behind. There is a trail that goes to the top with caves along the way you can look down. We went to Glenwood Springs & hung out in the hot mineral pools all day. We hear there's one in Iron Mountain that is less populated, smaller pools & less kids. Rifle is a pretty area there is a nice golf coarse close to the campground but we don't play.

We stayed in Site # 3 A. It had a view of the water yet it's a distance away. We had water and electric and a small dump station. There was a tree in our site which gave us a little shade yet no privacy in-between the sites. There is a boat launch, gas for boats and docks to keep a boat. They rent boats there too. You can sit along the water in front of the office.store and chill. It's a nice view and peaceful.

Kiley and Ian the owners are really nice and helpful. They have a small store onsite. They sell beer and wine too. There is a game room and a playground and horseshoe pits and a laundry room. There are a lot of full timers living there.

I love the little farm stands outside of peoples homes along the roads with fresh produce, lettuce and eggs.

We drove out to the point and sat and enjoyed the water view with a margarita. You can fish off the point some people were swimming there too.

The campground is close to the upper NY border on lake champlain.

We went to Cody's cafe for breakfast one day it was good. We needed a real grocery store so ventured to find one. Hannaford's isn't that far from there. There is a bakery the other direction yet wasn't fond of the sandwiches. They did see pies there at the bakery.

We went to Vesco Ridge Vineyards and had a tasting. They had some cute items for sale there too. We sat outside on a deck looking at the vineyard. They had some events coming up that weekend I would have liked to have made it back for the massage and wine event. They are also a Harvest Host location.

We drove to Grand Isles and stopped at a Snow Farm Winery. We did a tasting and enjoyed a nice view. There are lots of bicyclist that venture this route and they stop to enjoy a cold beer or wine.

I'm so glad I found this place it's very close to Rocky Mountain national Park, from Site A64 you have a great view of it. We had Elk & Deer every evening before sunset graze behind the Trailer. There is a small lake there you can fish, and a great hike right from the campground by the lake along a river. This campground is for 22' or less but they do have a few larger ones you have to call. The campground hosts were great they gave us great information. There is no cell service but you can go up the street to one of the restaurants and use their WiFi if you sit inside and have a drink or eats. Great location we will return.

The campground is ok if you don't want privacy. It was full the entire time lots of big family reunions. We love family & kids but it was over the top. We were fairly close to the playground and the kids played late & very early in the morning so no sleeping in. I'm glad we stayed in this campground not the beach campground they have it's a paved parking lot, hot & no privacy.

Our site was big but the neighbor behind us had a tent up behind their camper & it was in our site so we couldn't back in like we wanted to. It's a noisy campground, yet everyone is having fun.

The beach is close, it's a very busy beach, we went in & walked the dock getting pictures of the famous lighthouse, people were flying big kites 50 foot long it was cool to see. When we left we drove through the beach campground I'm so glad I didn't book there it's really a parking lot. We went to leave & the line coming in to the beach was so long and they fill up parking space wise. If you camp at the beach campground keep that in mind.

We stopped for one night heading home to FL. We had a site near the pool. It was so hot out once we got set up we took a dip in the pool. The sites are close together yet KOA's are like that. There is a nice lake with Swans. You can fish and kayak on the lake.

Easy access coming off the interstate I would stay here again.

We stayed 7 nights here and really enjoyed the campground and surrounding area. We were in B loop, site # B19 we had water & electric hook up. Our site was very private most of them are in this loop were in. We were across from the bathrooms which the bathroom area has Wi-Fi. Since we were close we had Wi-Fi at our site which was nice. The sites are very big and all in this loop are pull through sites. Big tall trees, lots of song birds and no bugs the week we were there. There is a visitor center onsite and clean restrooms. No showers onsite so come prepared. If you have the senior lifetime National Park pass the sites are 1/2 off.

Loop A the sites weren't as nice or as big and most not private. We liked the B loop much better.

As you leave the campground and take a left Frazer Point is about a 5 minute drive. Excellent place to see a sunset. There are picnic tables and fire pits if you want to just hang out there. The sunsets were amazing. We had a hard rain at sunset that only lasted a few minutes. When I turned around there was an amazing double rainbow. As it faded it became a big pink dome. We had never seen anything like it. I showed it to a ranger and she asked me to post it on the Acadia NP Hiking group on facebook. I have shared it in this review.

There are lots of trails for hiking in the park. This part of Acadia is peaceful and laidback.

Once you pass Frazer point it becomes a one way loop that goes along the shoreline with overlooks and Schoodic Point. Beautiful drive. It's 2 lane so a great place to ride your bike or walk. I believe it's about 5 or 6 miles through the National Park.

When you come out of the park there is the Bunkers seafood & Spirits. WE had a lobster roll and steamed mussels. It was good. A little further down the road is the pickled Wrinkle, next door to Me & Ben's dairy Creme. Great Ice cream. There's always a line so be patient.

There is a small grocery store in town (Winter Harbor Provisions) they had a great selection from meats to veggies. There are a few shops in town yet not much. We ate at Chases it was ok. The mudslides were amazing yet the food was just Ok.

We drove to Prospect Harbor & Milbridge (there's a grocery (Bayside) in Milbridge too). Driving 186 back from Prospect Harbor we stopped at a farm that had a little fresh farm stand/store that had a sign out on the road. We bought fresh lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, beets and local honey. Then we passed a Fresh pie farm stand that had pies and slices of pies and cookies for sale. We also saw a sign for farm fresh eggs and Ray's Meats. Ray's meats was amazing. The best big ham steak, ground beef, Ribeye steaks and more. They cut everything while you wait. It was all so good.

We camp here every year in March or April depending on the water level. Fossil hunting is good here using a sifter, shovel & a small mesh bag to put your fossils in. Usually the campground isn't busy there are always many empty sites. We had a big site with a fire pit, table, cement pad, water & electric & there is a dump station. The water does smell like sulfur so take bottled water to drink, make coffee or tea with. The bathrooms are cleaned when the camp host is there but during the week it's not cleaned and there are a lot of people that use the day use area to fossil hunt. We don't use the bathrooms so no problem for us.

The canoe outpost rents canoes & offers several places they will take you & drop you off & you canoe down the river, even camp along the way if you want. The bus pulling a canoe trailer drops people off every morning several times and they canoe back to the outpost. You do hear the bus coming in everyday with rumbling canoes but it's not that bad.

We found fossilized horse teeth, gator teeth, sharks teeth some nice ones on occasion, tapir teeth, dugong bones, other bones, turtle & Glyptodon (giant armadillo armor body plates and more).

There is a small town Arcadia close by and a neat place called Solomon's Castle good for a cold beer & lunch.

This was a nice campground (Part of the Casino) yet it's off to the side & has 8 to 10 spots on the water. We didn't get a spot on the water yet right across from one and no one was in it for the first 3 days so we had a water view. The third day an Airstream convoy came in it was cool, this group was doing a trip around Lake Superior.

We had water & electric, the site was level and nice sized. The restrooms are in the Building the Casino is in it's a little walk or you can drive right up to it. Had big showers and they were clean.

Took the boat tour to the Apostle Islands which is beautiful. Lots of Ice Caves, several lighthouses, the water was beautiful.

The town of Bayfield is a little town and has many places to eat, shops and a nice Liquor store with good choices of wines.
