We picked this campground based on proximity to the Space Center and Flight Museum. If you are used to Texas interstates, then maybe you are not as floored by the frontage road maneuvers it takes to get here as we are being from out of state. We scouted our exit strategy via our Toad the night before we left and that helped tremendously. Our site was pull thru and nice level concrete with full hookups. Appeared to be many long term stays around the perimeter with those of us passing through in the pull thru spots in the middle. We did not utilize the pool or other amenities but seemed well maintained. With the interstate above you, the traffic noise is more like white noise in the background. It was hot when we were here so we were running the AC and the traffic noise was not an issue inside the RV. Note there was not a picnic table or anything at the site, so bring your own chairs and side table.

Level, paved FHU site on the back straight, pull in with picnic table on pavers next to you. Close to other sites but that is function of being designed for watching races. We were NOT there during a large event week or weekend. We did wake up each morning to the sound of a few Ferraris participating in a driving school event. We like that, but it’s not for everyone. Very nice staff, clean pool and coin laundry. Our dog enjoyed the dog park. They were installing a sprinkler system in the dog park to help the grass grow. Being in site 75, we were further from the dog park than I would’ve liked but this also meant we were further away from the long term campers (i.e. work trucks leaving early in the morning). We participated in the Bike the Track on Tuesday evening. Turn 1 is steep! It was a great way to see the track. Food trucks available after the bike ride. Did use toll road 130 to get there (we have TX Tag so can just roll through), but to get around Austin, we used FM812 to 183 North and avoided the toll in the Toad. The airport is close and there are planes periodically overhead although it did lessen overnight. With the AC running, this was not a problem in the RV.

Stayed Wednesday, March 30. Found this on RV Parky. We needed a place to be able to get to VIR early the next day in our rig plus trailer that is 70’ Long. The first entrance as you come from Piedmont Road onto Mt Cross Road did have a steep angle that scraped. Exiting out the second/main entrance was much more level. When we stayed, there were 3 semi trucks and 2 other campers. The Walmart closed at 11 pm and it was quiet the rest of the night. Friendly folks the next morning. Lots of trash in the grass/wood area as we walked the dog, but good experience for what we needed.

This has the bones to turn into a nice campground. It’s almost as if they are making improvements as revenue allows. We were on the back row away from the main road. The sites near the main road were all recently made into concrete pads (like still have the grass seed around where they framed up the pad). The second row in from the main road was not very level. The sites are larger and would easily accommodate rig and trailer (there was a 43’ rig with 35’ trailer parked next to us, trailer was unhooked next to the RV). Nice to have full hookups as we’d been at some state parks earlier which are just electric with “fill and dump” at entry. The trees they’ve planted are still quite small and the road was dusty although the site was a heavy gravel that did not dust. Hookups are at the back of the site, so have your extended sewer hose with you. Easy 3-5 miles into Munising to play tourist. Cell service was good. We did not use their laundry at $3 for each wash and dry (only one machine each as of May 2021) but went into Munising so could do multiple loads at once at a laundromat.

Called the manager to confirm they would allow overnight. We stayed on a Sunday night and they close at 9 pm. Dinner service was great, food was predictable. Lots of road noise from I-75. There was another rig in the parking spots across the back and a catering truck in the other parking spot section. By disconnecting our toad, our 39’ rig filled up one of their RV spots. Not great level but not too bad. We were closer to the right side when you pulled in as it gets steeper the more left you go in that parking section. With head on passenger side, we were head-up sleeping. We backed around the corner of the building to get straight and connect rather than looping the building. Free parking and good dinner! Just bring ear plugs if you plan to open a window, which we did with temps in the mid-60s overnight.

Very close to the park. In mid-May, they got their typical full month May rain within a couple of days. This meant some wet spots and puddles around. We were in site 41 which is on the row of full hook up sites. This row was mostly full during our stay while the rest of the campground was mostly empty. It appeared they had just added sewer to the next row and were in process of filling with gravel and cleaning up. Very friendly staff, small camp store. Didn’t use laundry or bathhouse. Beautiful sunsets with Badlands close by.

Plenty of room for our 70’ of RV plus trailer. A couple of random turns on surface roads to get there but maybe it was the time of night we arrived. Lot is not level. A couple of other RVs had blocks and levelers out. We parked near several trucks and put the head of the bed uphill and slept just fine.

Great proximity to Natural Bridge and the Red River Gorge area. Definitely go with their directions to Exit 33 and back track the 2 miles if you are a big rig. Traffic noise from the Parkway, but it quieted down at night. This site leaned hard to the drivers side and got the afternoon sun. You face the side of a hill which is peaceful for us humans, but didn’t give the dog much activity to watch. Well maintained and clean.

Easy on/off I-10. Very cute decorated park. Picked up our checkin info and map from old phone booth. We had a pull through site for one night. Very nice level concrete and full hookups. Mostly long term sites so everyone knew to visit with the new folks. We had friendly conversation around the community fire pit and the dog enjoyed the dog run. There was nothing happening at the nearby racetrack when we were there so it was quiet. Too bad we were only passing through and didn’t have time to explore more.

The campground is well maintained. You are escorted to your site and they offer to help direct you in if need be. This site was a back in. The sites were a little closer than we prefer but you are very close to Nashville. Yes there is a train and street noise, but very close to I-65 to get wherever you may want to go in Nashville. Unfortunately our schedule did not allow us to take advantage of the nightly live music or home cooked breakfast. Level gravel sites. Very clean campground.
