It’s a nice campground and well maintained. I guess I didn’t read the details when booking because many sites in the Cinnamon Teal loop are doubles, meaning your neighbor is a few feet from you on the same pad. Fortunately our site had a really nice bluff/water view which made up for it. Our site was fairly short compared to some.

Best sites for partial water views are—RD6, RD3
Best sites for bluff & water views are—CT18, CT19, CT24-26
Mallard and Redhead loop has a couple distant partial water view spaces.

If you have a big rig and want sewer then probably Redhead loop is best for big sites in the woods.

The biggest negative was they were in the process of putting in new pavement so the campground roads and some of the sites were rough but they will be done in the spring. We had a peek-a-boo view from our site and it was level. The bathrooms are clean, coin showers, nice staff. There's a nice hiking path from the campground with awesome views of the lake and mountains in the distance. It would be great if you could hike down to the water. No shade at our site. Fluctuating T-Mobile service between 1-2 bars.

We reserved site #128 for our 18’ trailer towed by a Nissan Pathfinder. It was very sloped, narrow and short. We are newer RVers and had to get help from other people and we still didn’t get into it. A campground worker came by and said we could switch out to a first-come, first-serve site at no cost so we moved to #132 which was better but still pretty unlevel and we used every one of our blocks plus a neighbor gave us a big chunk of firewood to hold one wheel in place because our chauks weren’t strong enough on the sandy soil.

We didn’t see many sites flat enough for a medium size tent.

The other strange thing is there’s nowhere to do dishes or dump dirty water. There are flush toilets and bathroom sinks but no washing sink. Where do you dump pasta water, dish soap, etc and not either attract bears or harm the environment?? We heard these same comments from other campers.

Lots of bear activity!

The road to get around the campground is narrow and steep in parts.

The campground it’s self is in a beautiful location and the bathrooms are well maintained.

This is hands down the nicest campground we've ever stayed at! Evidently December is considered off-season so maybe that's why it was so quiet in the campground. It's extremely clean! Everyone was friendly, respectful and there's a wonderful staff. There's a white sand beach that is super clean and wonderful to relax on or go paddle boarding, kayaking, etc.

Our site (21) was across the street from the upper bathroom, which was super convenient. There's a handicapped space directly next to the upper bathroom and I would say that is the worst site because there's an electrical box that constantly buzzes, but otherwise all the other sites are nice. (I probably wouldn't want to stay across from the dump station either just because of the constant morning dumping.) All sites look pretty level. Overall, there's not a lot of privacy between the sites but as I mentioned, everyone was pretty quiet and respectful of each other.

We are on T-Mobile and the only place we got service was by hiking to the top of the hill overlooking the beach and even then it was only one bar for texting. People said it's crazier during the summer months when there's more families and boating on the lake.

Spent 4 nights after our original Rec.gov campground was flooded. For $35 you get a great campground with electric and water. Our site #32 backed up to the golf course and had Mountain View’s and a nice tree. Short site, fairly level.

The campground was crowded on the weekend but everyone was very quiet at 9 pm until 8 am. Very respectful campers.

Negatives—little scraps of trash around, old basic showers ($2 for 7 minutes of hot water but cold water free.)
No locks on bathroom doors which is weird because they don’t all close completely.

$5 dump fee.

Some fantastic hiking 15 miles up the mountain from Bishop. Bishop Country Club is a nice course with a nice cafe.

Overall I recommend for a brief stay.

I don't really know how to review this park because it was the first time we have ever stayed in an "RV resort." We had full hookups (also a first for us) and they worked fine. We have a tiny trailer so we had to place it towards the back of the space because we don't have a long sewer hose nor long water hose. The picnic table was at the very front on the space so not anywhere near where our trailer was in the back. We had a golf course view but it really wasn't a great view. To me the mountains are the best view and you can see them from anywhere. (We were with a large group and got a special rate--I would not have paid the full price to have a golf course view.) The biggest positive--They have a lot of bathrooms with free showers, which is nice. There's a large laundry room that requires quarters but also has a large basin if you need to just rinse out a few things. The biggest negatives were the following--#1. Nearly ZERO WiFi connection. Sometimes we could send a text but usual not. (You can't use the WiFi up at the office.) It was very frustrating because our plans for after this stay changed but we couldn't get a connection to map out a new vacation plan. I actually had to text my sister who looked up RV park telephone numbers so I could make phone calls. The park should not advertise WiFi. #2. It was great to have a pool because it was hotter than heck but the pool was typically packed and the water was cloudy. Maybe they need more chlorine. I would camp here again if going to Anza Borrego State Park because the time period when we went, electric hookups for A/C were a must and the pool was refreshing.

We loved the location of the CG but there are several different areas and types of sites, which I didn’t understand when booking. We were in Site 70 at the top west part of the CG. It’s literally a asphalt paved parking lot with water and electric. Our friends were down in the premium sites which are much more attractive set among the pine trees but they also get very muddy in the rain. (Our site was much cheaper in the parking lot area.)

The bathroom showers in the parking lot area were always gross. We started using the showers at our friends’ section which are all private bathrooms and much cleaner.

Overall we would stay here again and in the parking lot because it’s convenient and fairly cheap.

I really wanted to love it because it’s got full hookups, nice concrete pads and a fantastic location. However there are two big negatives—The bathrooms are always dirty. We stayed 4 nights and they were never cleaned and no toilet paper one full day. Also our site was infested with ants. If we would have been warned about this at check in and told to spray around our camper we could have prevented the infestation inside our camper. They got into all our food cabinets and we had to throw out a lot of food. The food was somewhat sealed for normal camping but not for camping on an ant farm. It took two days to finally eliminate the ants by using sprays inside and out, and traps inside. The same thing happened on a site two sites away to two different reservations. Obviously it’s a problem on certain sites.

For those reasons we would never camp there again.

Site 141 had full sun. It's an easy walk to a bathroom and a little further down the path to a bathroom with a shower. For many sites it is a bit of a walk to a bathroom and there's no easy way to cut through sites to get to one so you could end up walking a lot. By the way, the bathrooms are super clean--everything is clean!

There are electric charging ports up by the check-in kiosk and each bathroom has a plug.

During our stay at the end of January, the days were perfect--sunny and just a little warm--but as soon as the sun goes down, it's pretty darn cold. Everyone spends evenings and mornings in their campers. The park is very strict about campfires and we saw a ranger come and give someone a warning and then a ticket. Evenings are extremely quiet.

The park was nearly full and of all those campers very few were under the age of 30 and only 3 kids. It's a snowbird's place in the winter.

We have T-Mobile and we could text and email. We couldn't get good internet access or phone coverage.

First of all, the pictures on the website do not show the slope, uneven ground nor all the dozens of ground squirrel holes that might be there. At first we were in site 144 which is just a space in a giant dust patch—we called it The Dust Bowl. That entire area from sites 133-157 are in dust up to several inches deep.

Fortunately the campground had lots of empty spaces so we moved to site 175 which was SO MUCH better! Same price but it had an asphalt pad (cracked and in rough condition but level and no squirrel holes). We even had a little view of the lake.

There was a big wind storm during our stay and I felt so bad for all those people on dust sites. In general I would not camp here except on a asphalt or concrete pad.

Bathrooms we’re not very clean but good enough.
