Pro: easy on and off I80.
All pull through sites
Electric service appears in good condition.
Cons:
1. Note on office (see picture) states to take any available site if prepaid (we were). After pulling in a site on row D and getting boards out to level, the Oklahoma welcoming committee on row E I formed us that site was reserved. When I stated we had reservations and referred her to the notice on the office. She proceeded to haughtily inform me “Those are for MY family, sites 2-7 and they are reserved for THEM”. Such a nice welcome to York. On second look (see picture) her site was definitely permanent with loads of junk, a shop fan and at least 8 lawn chairs. The site D5 also had an empty coke bottle, Capri sun bag and a styrofoam cup. We circled the grounds several times to find a site that was nearer the office. Would I stay again? ….definitely not.
2. Wifi is like many camps…available but not functional. I either couldn’t get on or there was no internet connection. (Using personal hot spot. )
3. It rained earlier and you can see huge lakes in the roads. Gratefully, the sites themselves are gravel, not level but not muddy or puddled.
4. Water pressure is about 40lb. A bit low.
5. All the sites we pulled into sloped to the passenger side. Some needed at least 3” of leveling.

We arrived in early afternoon. Our site was easy to back into and plenty lengthy for our 250 and 35’ TT. This site was amazingly level as well. There was a playground, basketball goals and large picnic shelter across the road as well as tent sites behind us. (FYI do not take an RV into the tent area. There is no turn around spot and you must turn into volcanic ash…much worse than sand. We were almost stuck before we found the correct road. ). Once setup, this park provided us a base to tour Mt. St. Helens. The Toutle River, behind the campground, was a significant player in the eruption of 1980 and the campground itself was rebuilt. Lots of history here.
Cons: Verizon is nonexistent except for text messages. Locals tend to rev their engines going down the highway to the side of the camp.
Pro: Small, quiet after 11 PM, friendly neighbors and staff. Not too crowded. The river is easily accessible from camp. Good water pressure and electric voltage. Dump station is good.
