Part of a greater park on the banks of the Minnesota River. Close to downtown, easy access. Not all sites are level but most are. Basic facilities, ie vault toilet. Dump station as you drive in. Sites are electric only, 15, 30, 50 amp. No water or sewer. Big rig friendly with very long drive through on many sites, Ours, #E2 was a back-in site. The $27 per night for basically a dry-camping site seems a little high but prices have been going up in a lot of campgrounds this year, so maybe not.

This is a hidden gem far from anywhere (40 miles east of I25 in the high prairie of Northeast New Mexico.) If you can make it, it's a great stay. But ... It's down seven miles of gravel road the last mile of which is rutted and very rough. In the campground itself there's only one pull-through site than can handle anything larger than a class C. Most of the campers we saw were either in tents or vans/conversions with a couple of small trailers. The seven-or-so developed campsites all have picnic tables and fire rings. Three have fenced and covered areas for horses. Most of the sites appeared to be mostly level. The good news is there are a couple of parking areas without any facilities that can handle bigger and/or more unwieldy rigs as well as over-flow camping. The nights we were there were busy with all the developed campsites occupied. The lower campground is down a steep, poorly developed road that's not for the faint of heart. It's not recommended for RVs, low-clearance vehicles or vehicles with trailers -- although we did see a small trailer and a van in the lower campground. It's not likely that you will visit this campground unless you make specific plans to do so and it's basically geared for lovers of the outdoors. if that's you, you'll love it.

OK but not great. No pads, you park on grass or dirt. We paid $35 for electric only, no other hookups. The campground is located off the end of one of the nearby airport's runways so you might get the occasional noise from a departing jet, otherwise it's quiet. Check-in is a little confusing because you need to find the unmarked fairgrounds office in a building at the southeast corner of the camping area. Or, as we did, just wait and they'll find you. No reservations, first come first serve. May be full in August during the Sioux Empire Fair. Plan on driving if you need anything, no restaurants or stores nearby. (Note: For a city the size of Sioux Falls there are remarkably few places to camp and when we stayed in August, this was the only place we found with anything available.)

Reasonably priced, good sites, close to Scott's Bluff. Easy in and out, mostly level pads, open year round. Electric hookups 50A only, so have an adapter for 30A service. Showers can be a long walk from most sites but they are clean with plenty of hot water. Stalls are somewhat small however. All sites have picnic tables, but no fire rings. Sites are well spaced and roomy. Discounts for veterans. Iron ranger for off season. Park is sunny with little shade.

Only 10 sites, Electric hookups. Unpaved pull through sites are not clearly marked but seems like they can handle big rigs. Dog park nearby (by the baseball diamond). Vault toilet. The campground was open as of August, 2022.
