Older park, but very quiet with reasonably clean restrooms. Spacious showers with good hot water supply. Spent a clean and comfortable evening out of the rain and wind!

A great little campground, tho no hookups. We only paid $10 with our America the Beautiful pass. We stayed here two separate nights (with one in between to ride the southern portion of the Maah Daah Hey), and had no trouble finding a spot on Saturday at 4:00 pm (and many arrived later to also find room). Medora was packed so this was nice respite. A bit of highway noise, so pick sites 13-17 on the Mandan loop for a quieter stay. Also, you can reserve sites 3, 11-13, & 27 ahead on recreation.gov; the rest are 1st come, 1st served. Verizon spotty, tho can get 2 bars at sites 10-11.

We went to Medora to ride part of the Maah Dah Hey trail, but it was the same weekend there was a big race there. We stayed at Buffalo Gap before and after our ride and really enjoyed it. It's convenient to Medora, has showers, and the sites are well-spaced with good privacy. The two loops offer views in different directions and you can usually find shade if it's hot. I do believe it accepted our America the Beautiful pass, so we only paid $7.50/night in 2021. We would definitely return!

We stayed here to visit a friend and get a water issue in our van fixed (call Cory’s mobile RV service if you need anything!). Lovely (and huge) grounds, spacious sites, free showers, clean bathrooms, power at most sites, free dump and potable water—and it’s very quiet (at least it was during the week). Would definitely stay here again!

We just stayed overnight as we were passing through; drove from one lake to the next (they’re all connected by a winding road), mostly looking for the cleanest pit toilet! Most were filled w TP trash and dead flies, some had toilet paper and others didn’t. Cleanest was at Burke Lake South near the first boat launch. But otherwise, we were completely alone, it was a quiet, beautiful evening. Hot, but breezy, so bugs not terrible. The gravel road was a bit rutted, but should be passable for anyone. Two bars on our Verizon phones. Bought a Discover Pass, but no one checked. Very little traffic on a Wednesday in July. Lots of open spaces for various-sized RVs or trailers.
