Got the site we paid for. Host had no interaction with campers. The dump station is inop going on 3 years. Nothing to write home about but not bad enough to day won't go back. The campground at Lucerne looks much nicer.

Facilities are good but road surface is not. Lots of ruts. Now the good...The area around is beautiful. I saw wildlife I've only seen in zoo's. Good stop. Very quiet.

Facility is nice...thanks Indiana parks! Plenty of power. Plenty of length for parking. Plenty of trash left from previous tenant to include human waste...not cool. Fire pit overflowing with paper trash. Dumpsters literally 50 yards away. Your fellow travelers are always the worst reason to stay.

We spent three nights here on the way to flaming gorge. First the towns near the campground are all very nice and tidy. No problems there. The dump station in Sunnyside was just as clean as could be. We even filled our water tank there but it looked like a brand new faucet too. The entry to the campground is not for the faint of heart. It takes a solid recon of the road and campsite you want to occupy. And there are multiple ways in and out to boot. From your arrival at the facility you will traverse east to get to either of the entry ramps...yep after all the effort to get up there you gotta go down to actually get into a site. If you are in anything bigger than a van I wouldn't try it in the dark or when it's wet just stay up top. We arrived around 2 in the afternoon on a sunny, dry day and it was okay. We went in on the east side of the playground. Both entry points are narrow and steep but you've probably been in an RV park that is as steep in spots. Campsites are not level. That bears repeating...but I won't. In our case we chose the southeastern site for the view and never got fully level but we were close enough for comfort. There is one on the inside of the road on the eastern side that did appear to be close enough that we could have levelled. We had a couple neighbors for each of the nights. Wind every day during daylight hours, Cold, clear nights with great star watching potential. Very quiet. Nobody was using the ATV trails. We'd stay again but probably only overnight.

Pulled in to spend a couple nights but kept finding reasons not to leave. Very thoughtful owners checked with us often to see if there was anything that they could do for us. Some sites are older and the utilities are in odd spots but nothing too far, at least for us. Sites 1 through 9 offer afternoon shade. All are 30 amp. Good power. Fantastic Wi-Fi. Did a number of speed tests and all were in excess of 6mps many in excess of 10. Very little road noise even during daylight...might change some with the off roading season. Mackey is a great little town too.

Dumped here on the way out of town. Easy in and out. No worries about space. The entire week in town I saw a Mac of half a dozen cars. More than enough room for the biggest RV s.

Stayed 4/20-4/25. Large multi site campsite. If the 10 sites off FR087 this is the easiest, dryest, and possibility most level. Easy access. Most of the sites in #4 are sheltered by large trees. The way it is situated it is very close to the road which is just up a bank but if it's not a high occupancy timeframe it won't be an issue. We saw very few people the entire trip and would go an entire day without seeing anyone. Weather was a minor issue. High winds. Cold temps. Sunburned too. Got it all! Site was pretty clean. Lot's of .22 brass and shotgun shells. The only real blemish is there is someone's privy in the trees near the river. I expect they depended on someone else to close it. But...it's still there. Shame on them. AT&T cell service drops off after you pass the lake coming in. So it's about 3 miles up the road. In the site might get it with a booster.

This entire area from UT24 and past the creek is extremely popular for dispersed camping. We arrived early in the afternoon. While I was standing in the area that would be our campsite two other people showed up and looked at it as well. Needless to say we occupied it ASAP. I don't know the number but we were at the primary site on the southeastern side of the creek at the end of the entry road where the road goes back down to the creek. Very easy in and out. Great site. I would consider staying multiple days next time.

When I booked this park on KOA.com I could only book a 30amp back-in which, admittedly, is not a true problem. Our hosts, Monty and Traci, asked on my arrival if I would prefer a pull-thru which I accepted. I run into many nice people running parks but Monty and Traci are a cut above. Pretty park. A block away from the local grocery store which is pretty well stocked. Nice looking gas station in town with reasonable gas prices too. A little traffic on the road at night but not odious. Electric and sewer services are exactly where I need them and water is close enough I don't have to get out the garden hose. Just a great park. After we rolled in however we discovered that our next stop, Lucerne Campground and Marina would be hosting their big fishing derby the dates we were expecting to be there. I asked Monty if it were possible to have one of his sites instead and he fixed me right up.
Meeting such nice folks wasn't the only surprise of the day. The drive from Vernal to Manila is beautiful and steep. I expected mountain driving and only drove 198 miles that day to compensate for the time I knew I'd loose. The first 100 were easy enough even on US 191 from Price to Duchesne. The last 80 are almost entirely vertical either up or down...and forget about 5% grades. It's 8% or nothing. The last 20 being the worst. It is entirely manageable if you slow down and take breaks. Our 40 footer with a tow did surprisingly well. Smelled the brakes a couple times. Pulled over and rested. Still got here. PS WIFI is awesome here.

Place is clean and quiet. It's also first-come first-served and very popular. People begin drive thru's around 10am to find a site...get there early. Road noise after 10pm is almost nonexistent. Very picturesque. I think every site has a good view of something. While I don't especially care for paying to dry camp you get a lot here. Supervised. The campground staff is driving thru several times per hour. Close to the dump station and potable water which were very clean. Water faucet in or very close to your site for filling pans, bottles, dish pans, etc...just not your RV. Our site was like a premium site at many RV Parks...fire pit, bbq, clean table, concrete pad, and the view. The hikes in and around are very nice if not a little more strenuous than described...few fall into the easy range. No cell service for ATT but drive west on 12 to the Highway 12 Scenic Byway sign and you can download the world. Hit the Main Street Market in Panguich for groceries. Cedar City Walmart for what you can't find in Panguich.
