This is a great place to stay on the east side of GNP. Easy access to Many Glacier and just outside St Mary entrance to GTSR. So much to see in Many Glacier! The campground can get windy. Most sites are in full sun, but if you’re exploring all day that won’t matter. Open skies makes for great stargazing. Also great phone reception-there’s a tower in view.

Pretty live oaks and OK facilities. We were parked next to a VERY old camper on the side of the park with permanent residents. But there was a side with more mobile rvs. Looks like it was once a cool place with community space and a bar. Expensive but convenient for our trip between Florida and Chicago.

Family owned campground with sites and bathrooms well maintained. Can’t beat the location to Acadia and everything Mount Desert Island has to offer. The camp roads are treacherous and the sites are a challenge to get our Basecamp 16X into the site but was accomplished. Live that they restrict to 20 feet or less. They could really use dish washing station at each bathhouse and a basic camp store. But coffee and baked goods in the morning and I e cream in the afternoon were from local vendors and delicious!

We stayed here in our way farther south. It’s a 20-minute drive from town. Roomy, spaced out sites. Not much to do there but a great stop over at a great price. Facilites clean and well kept!
