Our time here was fantastic! No hookups, showers, or dump stations. However, there is potable water, pit toilet, and trash. No shad, which is perfect for our setup. Gorgeous views of mountains and lake!
Can be a bit windy, and during our stay, we encountered snow, thunderstorms, and a windstorm that kicked up a significant amount of dust.
There is tons of wildlife and a great hiking trail in the campground. Little grocery store in Angle Fire, or you can drive to Toas for a larger selection. Located on / near the enchanted circle, so tons of gorgeous views and hikes nearby.
We were heading southwest to El Vado Lake, so we were able to dump at the speedway just outside Toas for free.

Traveled south from Eagles Nest Lake to El Vado, allowing us to avoid taking the road over the dam. Due to spring showers, the work on the dam was halted for the two weeks we stayed as the lake levels were too high.
The shower house and potable water were turned on / open two hours a day. Showers were clean but cold.
If you needed water, the host and/or ranger was happy to provide. They are currently trucking in water, so they are limiting for a few hours a day.

Limited AT&T service, no Verizon service, we used starlink for work and had no issues

There was lot's of wildlife and hiking nearby (mostly outside of state park). Decent grocery store and laundromat in Chama about 40 minutes away, and the Chevron station can refill propane.

Ranger and camp host some of the nicest people and are super helpful should you have any questions. Definitely made our stay so much better!

We stayed one night to be in the area for an appointment. This year, several campgrounds in the area went to reservation. We snagged a site that was free for the night. Water, trash, and pits are all available. Hike down to and around was great! Decent road noise as you set below, but it dies down at night. It's not our favorite camp in the area, but honestly, any of the campgrounds are a great place to stay.

We arrived before the original opening dates, so we were able to snag one of the 4 first come first serve sites. We stayed in site 13, which we think is one of the best sites. Sites 13-16 are first come, while the remaining sites (1-3, 5-12) are resealable on rec.gov. There is trash, 3 pits, and at some point should be water in the campground. Campground is centrally located to several great hikes as well as two nice lakes ( Lewis and Libby)
We stocked up on groceries in Laramie as well as laundry. Saratoga is a cute little town that does have a small grocery, and they have a fun public hotspring. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

When we arrived on a Saturday, we were the only camper. There are 6 sites, two that you could easily park a camper. Pit toilet and trash can in campground.

While this campground is in the middle of nowhere, there was a surprising volume of traffic on the forest service road and in the campground (lots of stopping in to use the pit toilet). We stayed two nights and then moved on due to the traffic and lack of place to walk our pup.

No cell service, starlink worked well.

Small state campground, water is centrally located. Dump stations (two) are located about 5-10 minutes down the street at North Michigan Lake Campground. Additional fee of 10 dollars per day (annual pass is 80) to camp. Great hiking nearby, paddleboarding, and small boats allowed on North Michigan. All other lakes allow fishing but no swimming or boating/ floating. We stayed to visit with family and enjoyed our stay. 117 and 118 seem to be the best sites. Road noise can be heard throughout the campground.
