We pulled into what is a very unkept campground that looks as if it was probably cute 40 years ago. It appeared to me 95% permanent residents. The office was unmanned during normal work day/hours. You can take a slip and choose a site which is great but the only non occupied sites were rutted out as of 06/2023. The rate was $50 per night. There is a KOA 27 miles on down the road!

The owners and everyone that works here are so gracious and nice. The views when the fog settles or lifts over the water is picturesque. The internet is fit for non stop streaming with zero buffering. The sights are long and level. In the off season, they let one RV occupy the entire length. In the salmon season, I’m sure this gets crowded but the location and quality exceed anything else we saw in the area. Ideal for exploring Redwood!

We are not fans of big campgrounds so we went in knowing it wouldn’t really be our scene. They were paving while we were there which turned out to be a much bigger headache than we thought it was going to be. BUT....this campground is exceptionally well run. The owner was very gracious in handling a tough situation and even helped us carry our groceries around the paving to get to our rig. Tight but well maintained spots. We had zero service and could not connect to the campground WiFi.
Having said that, level lots and WiFi are really hard to come by in the Rockies so just go with appropriate expectations.

This campground is complete chaos. We moved here from in the mountains to get a few days of signal and laundry. We’ve stayed in some tight campgrounds before but these are on top of each other. We had to ask the neighbor to move his truck to disconnect our water and sewer. His truck was on top of it and he wasn’t being rude- it’s just that tight. No rules enforced. Our other neighbor was running his hunt club out of his site so he fed about 15 people breakfast and dinner every night. We had to elbow through them to get into our rig. Laundry room had someone with a nose speaker blasting her music at an ear piercing level and I like loud music. Great location but just a terrible experience.
