We we're on our way to Big Bend National Park and needed to break up our drive. We planned on staying in one of west tx rest area, but we took a chance on dropping in without reservations. Lucky for us they fit us in for one night and it had electric and water... Score!! Beautiful park with great hiking and wonderful ancient Indian pictograms. Not close to civilization ( grocery, gas, food) so pack accordingly. Definitely would stay again 😁

What can you say it's free up to 14 days. Now there is two parts to this BLM. There is the front which has room for 2 rigs then there is the second which is about a mile of the main road (room for about 2 or 3 if it's small enough). Keep in mind if you go that route make sure you go when there has been no rain because it's a tough deep grooved road to the camp area. Once you get there it's magical!! Stars for days in the evening.

This is really a great spot for dry camping , but only if you're not afraid of some high gust winds. It's windy season around west tx between the months of Feb thru May. Be prepared to endure some high winds if you go around that time. Other than that they have bathrooms and a place to throw your trash..no showers. Enough area for at least 3 travel trailers or smaller rv's that's right on the water.😁 Enjoy!
