The overall appearance was well kept, clean and neat. The camp store was nice and had some necessities. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, even delivering wood to your site. The sites themselves, at least the loop we were in, were small and in a wide open field along the main road. Since we were there to visit local attractions it didn’t matter to us, but if you’re looking to hang out at your site it may not be a good fit. It’s every bit of 20 minutes from Brewery Ommegang, and Red Shed Brewing and about 15 min from Cooperstown on Rte 80. But the drive up 80 is gorgeous along the lake.

We stayed one night and had 3 sites. My site was decent size and surrounded by vegetation which gave good privacy. My nieces had the two adjacent sites and camped in tents. The sites were mostly gravel which made tent camping a little tough, but my 34’TT had no issues. Site was level and big enough. I hate the new NYS smokeless fire rings because you can’t see the fire unless it’s raging, but that’s coming to all NYS campgrounds.

Stayed here two nights and overall it’s a pretty nice campground. All staff were friendly and helpful. Sites are decent, some better than others. We stayed in F15 because it was secluded a little more and shaded. Site was ok, but a little closer to the neighbors than I would have liked. We had full services and no issues with any of them. Electric was fine despite the crowded campground and 91 degrees. There is a lot to do especially for smaller kids. Even my 17 and 16 year old enjoyed man hunt and other stuff to keep them busy. Cell service is very sparse for Verizon. I imagine it’s better with a booster because it’s 5 bars a mile down the road.

Overall this was a nice campground. The river sites are a bit small but don’t feel cramped when you’re sitting by the fire relaxing. Although the river is directly behind the site, it is down a 10’ steep bank and difficult to access. All of the campers were friendly and it was very quiet and relaxing. The river is mud bottom and not very swimmable with the shallow area lined with vegetation. In the center it’s about 3-5’ deep and despite seeing plenty of fish, none were hungry for what we offered.

Great local county park with great camping close to home. We live within 5 miles so it was our shakedown weekend. The sites are great, not too crowded and mostly level. There are tent sites and sites for RVs. No full service sites just electric, but there is a dump station and the bath houses are clean and neat. The lake is a short walk from your site and is a great place to catch some bass.

We tent camped there last year during The first week of August. We had a site with no shade and it was warm, but that’s our only complaint. The park was very clean, the bathrooms and bath houses were well maintained, updated and plentiful. There were playgrounds for young kids, an arcade, a great beach and plenty of places to launch kayaks. The St. Lawrence was a little too windy to do much kayaking and we won’t be bringing them this year. You need bikes because the park is very large and it’s the easiest way around. The camp store was great and had everything except alcohol. There are no other stores on the island so you have to cross the bridge to get beer or things not sold at the camp store. Overall an awesome place to camp and we have reserved another week for this coming summer, but this time with our new travel trailer. There are sites for every size and shape rig.

We arrived Saturday morning and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They even escorted us to our site. We reserved a back in site but they had a cancellation for a pull through so they gave that to us for free which was nice. The cable and WiFi were good quality. We were able to stream movies and watch TV without issues. The only real issue we had was the size of the sites. They were very very small. With out awning out, it was about 2’ from our neighbors camper and it was a tight fit parking the truck. We actually had to move the truck so our neighbor could pull out. The people there were all very nice. I suspect most are seasonal, or month rentals. We weren’t really there for the campground, we were just sleeping there so we didn’t spend much time outside on our site. If that was our plan again I’d definitely stay there again, but not much room outside to do anything, including a campfire.
