Took a chance on a first come first serve site and was so pleasantly surprised! Location is amazing- at the base of Devil’s Tower/Bear Lodge between a little river and a prairie dog town. Sites were shady and while not super private, well spaced. Bathrooms were very clean. So glad I was able to stay here, beautiful spot!

As others have said, it is.... fine. There are three lots- paved up at the top which was VERY tight quarters to maneuver in and out, a dirt/mulch lot in the middle, and a gravel lot below. The main entrance was closed due to construction but entrance was clear enough. Not scenic, no tables, benches or anything at sites, but a solid choice for easy access to Monterey. I passed through the Veteran’s Memorial Park to see if it might be an option next time, and will definitely stick with fairgrounds. Besides being able to make reservations, it definitely had a much safer vibe than Veteran’s. Camp host was out and about often and very visible.

Small campground outside Bluebell lodge. Not super private but sites were spaced out with lots of grass and trees in between. Super clean bathrooms and (free!) hot showers. Trail rides passed along the side and it was fun to watch horses go by. Easy access to several major stops (Rushmore, etc) but Custer State Park itself was an absolute gem.

Stopped over for part of a work trip and only wish I had more time to spend exploring. Agree with other reviewers— tons of wildlife (pigs galore! Don’t leave anything out! 😂), clean facilities, lovely park. Rangers were super helpful both via phone and in person.

Lots of great, spacious sites. Campground is definitely on the noisy side, lots of groups, but has running water and clean bathrooms. My tip would be to look at a campground map and pick a spot near water access, otherwise filling water jugs is a bit of a hassle. Lots of cool trails right off of the campground and the campground itself has great views and Joshua Trees everywhere.

Stayed in a no hook up spot under the Eucalyptus. Got enough sun in the morning to keep solar charged, but shady in the afternoons. Very family friendly with kids riding bikes throughout, and a friendly vibe. Convenient to town and Morro Bay sites. Had a great breakfast at the golf course next door, and a great dinner at the cafe across the street at the marina. Will definitely be back to take advantage of so many great places nearby!

Had a quick stopover at Pinnacles and really enjoyed the campground. Stayed with my small trailer in the tent area and found it lovely and peaceful. While dogs aren’t allowed on trails, the campground road made for a lovely evening walk. The showers are a long walk away near the visitor center, and looked fine but not great. #5 was a corner spot so we had no neighbors and tons of space. Minimal shade, but perfect for charging solar. Highlight was all the bunnies that came out in the evening!

What a great campground! Super close to Bend, very clean, and friendly rangers and camp hosts. I arrived a day early and was able to grab a spot— the camp host let me know that the spot (C72) is often not listed online but kept aside as an “emergency” campground for drop ins. It is a really great spot with a lot of space and more privacy than most— your only real neighbors are to the back—and close to bathroom facilities without being too close.

Showers and bathrooms were super well maintained and clean.

There was a big, sudden rainstorm while I was there and many of the sites flooded (especially in the “A” area, which is lower), but I was lucky that my site stayed clear.

The only downside for me was minimal cell coverage. It was pretty consistently one bar but occasionally something would still come through.

Super easy to access, very clean, friendly service. Sites are all pull through and in pairs so you are pretty close to your neighbors. Far busier than I expected for winter! There is WiFi available but I found it too slow to be functional even for basics, however cell service is good so there were no concerns with connectivity. Also has a big, fenced in dog park. A great home base to go exploring!

Was able to grab a last minute, mid-week reservation (lots of open spots mid-week in November). Sites are basic and close together, but have bushes between for some privacy. Can’t beat the beach access, though! I didn’t get a beachfront spot this time, but #38 looks like the best to me.. as others have noted, the bluff blocks the direct ocean view from most sites, but 38 looks right out on it. I found bathrooms to be clean and well maintained, facilities overall were great.
