Got in around 4ish and most electric spots were taken. We parked under a tree. It's nice for being free. I enjoyed bar it's nice to stumble... I mean walk back to the RV after drinking. It filled up fast when the sun went down. Verizon internet was SUPER slow and AT&T is pretty much unusable.

First of all this is a beautiful campground.
first your drive here is pathed all the way till you reach the campground entrance. part of the road has a lot of zig zags so take it slow especially if you're a newbie RV driver. Once you are in the park you travel down a well maintained rock road. you have your main road which will take you around the perimeter and you have the middle road which take you thru the middle. the trees are trimmed along the road and in the camping sits it seemed to be trimmed up to 12 / 13 feet. if your looking at an overview map you will notice rocks along the edge of the road, obviously do not take your vehicle past them, but you can tent past them to a point, there is no camping by the river. purely from observation not fact, i have found any ground made up with the same rocks from the road are for parking your car not your camper or RV. there is no designated spots. while i was there a group of 4 RVs make a circle around some trees and there was there camp spot. obviously don't park on vegetation. the people during my stay seemed nice people came and went. i stayed for a week and it got busy starting Thursday and by Monday afternoon it was empty again with your onesy twosy people arounds. the only sounds i heard was generators and cows. they do find there way in the campground and MOOOOO super loud. you will find what looks like fallen wasp nets... its cow poop. there are lots of places to park here. be prepared for dramatic temperature fluctuations i experience a 50 degree F fluctuation. no trash cans no water no dump but its free. great group camping in the middle and nice single camping toward the outside.

Verizon - worked well on the east side of the campground with boosters all other spots you can only get voice with roaming, data is almost impossible without expensive gear.
AT&T - Worked well got decent data, didn't test voice.

So many spots to camp. I am in the campground area they call Rodeo. There is no one else here. When you book on the website it's $30 plus tax and $1 booking fee. If you have a good sam membership you get 10% off. When you come here for the same site is says $35.... Not sure if that includes tax. Anyway it's pretty much a ghost town here unless you pick a spot on the north side of the fair grounds.

This location is just beautiful! It's a little rough when you turn off 313 but I got thru with a class C and towing my car. Some spots are short some are long. Spots around 50 are alot longer then others. If you have a class A your definitely going to want a spot over here. They have two payment types you can use the classic envelope or a solar powered credit card payment station.

this campground shows its age. it looks like they stopped upgrading it in 2005 and have been only maintaining it. I really enjoyed the view from my spot. but one thing i noticed the closer you are to the water the harder it was to get a phone signal.

T-Mobile = non existent in park.
AT&T = probably the best out of the 3 but at night it was slow.
Verizon = ok away from the water. the closer you are to the water the more likely you are to get dropped calls.

The reserve spots are in the park. If there is a spot available in the reserved area you can take it for the same day. The actual first come first serve sites are in the parking lot.
