Small travel trailer and truck fit the site o.k., but there was no avoiding having to level extensively. Upon completing the leveling, eyeballing the sewer dump (which was on a riser so it was over a foot in the air for some reason) made me wish I had declined the site before the extensive leveling. HOWEVER, I hooked up 20 ft. of sewer hose (stretched out pretty tight) and connected. Dude next to me was eyeballing it too and we began discussing the merits (or lack thereof) dumping my sewer uphill from his spot in #16. I went to the office and they dispatched a maintenance guy. He too eyeballed it and declared, "That ain't gonna work!" I asked him to get a sawsall and cut the thing down shorter like it should be but he feared termination. He called his supervisor who arrived shortly, and also eyeballed it. He declared that the sewer line was (his opinion) sloping downhill, and there was nothing he could (read: would) do about it until the morning (it was approx. 5:00 p.m.). He said to call the emergency number if things blew. What?
Well, at 0530 the next morning opening the dump valve proved me (and my buddy in #16) correct, and the sewer was sloped uphill. This lead to the arduous and crazy (for a PREMIUM SITE) sewer hose dance which ultimately damaged my hose and outlet valve.
Anyway, add to this that the fire pit was removed (but not the charcoal/ash) from outside the door, and the ONLY thing (other than location) that this place has going for it is all the stuff for kids. For that, I'll give them 2 stars....

My family and I were preparing to leave the park after the second night early when, while using the restroom facilities (had a 12 hour drive in front of me, and had unhooked the RV already) after approx. 10 minutes the custodian began knocking on the door, asking me if I was ok in there. I was not finished and told him so. Didn't think much of it. A few minutes later, he knocked louder and harder, asking me when I would be finished. I'm thinking, "what the hell????" Then he began pounding!

I finished up quickly and as I was leaving he got in my face about the length of time I was in the restroom. I couldn't believe I was having this conversation! I told him I paid for the use of these facilities and reminded him I had even asked him if it was O.K. with him to use the restroom prior to using it, and what was his problem. He told me, "I SHIT EVERY MORNING! "I SHIT EVERY MORNING SIR AND I DON'T TAKE THAT LONG!"

I actually began to feel threatened over the use of a restroom, as he was right in my face. I left, never to return to this otherwise nice, conveniently located place...

This ranks as one of the most disturbing and strange encounters I've ever had in my long life! I wasn't even going to review this park, and it has taken me months to do so, but thought I should make others aware.

This park is managed by the friendliest State Park employees we have ever met. From the welcoming e-mail to the welcoming phone call (and check-in) to the welcome to Nature Jeopardy to the "thank you for staying with us" note upon return, I cannot say enough good things about this neat little park! It was neat as can be and the restrooms and playgrounds were spotless. Will definitely visit again.

Loved the pines, the level site (some are far from level however, so buyer beware) and the wildlife. Close to the 40, yet seems many moons away.
