Elk Creek RV Park

Small clean little place that gets full quickly. Friendly staff

Positive side first...sites are dirt and a little gravel with small patches of grass. Laundry rooms are clean as well as showers. WiFi ok. No antenna reception at all.
We arrived on a Friday and about dinner time we saw that our microwave wasn't working and upon further investigation either was air conditioning in bedroom and no plugs in bedroom or bath. Checked fuse box and all ok. It was in the 90s here and too hot to sleep in bedroom so slept on couch. Long story short Saturday we spoke to older man in office and he gave us two business cards for repair. Anyway we called one guy and he charged $300 to come look on a Saturday. He came out and said our fuses we're good it was parks hookup. Go into office and guy said he'd speak to owners. We ended up moving our fifth wheel over two spots. Owners would not help with costs or reimbursement at all.

Liked pull-through sites and proximity to clean restrooms and showers. Nice game room/tv room. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Note: They offer 10% military discount, which I got. I called ahead the day before. When I checked in it was after hours, but I found an envelope with our assigned spot. The electric didn’t work at that site, but there was an empty site next to me that was close enough to plug into.
The next morning one of the people running it greeted me and ask about my stay. We discussed the electric, he apologized, then offered me coffee, fruit, and muffins in the clubhouse.
The clubhouse is literally like a step back in time! It was clean, but literally looked like it was out of the early 1960s! Very cool!

My family and I were preparing to leave the park after the second night early when, while using the restroom facilities (had a 12 hour drive in front of me, and had unhooked the RV already) after approx. 10 minutes the custodian began knocking on the door, asking me if I was ok in there. I was not finished and told him so. Didn't think much of it. A few minutes later, he knocked louder and harder, asking me when I would be finished. I'm thinking, "what the hell????" Then he began pounding!

I finished up quickly and as I was leaving he got in my face about the length of time I was in the restroom. I couldn't believe I was having this conversation! I told him I paid for the use of these facilities and reminded him I had even asked him if it was O.K. with him to use the restroom prior to using it, and what was his problem. He told me, "I SHIT EVERY MORNING! "I SHIT EVERY MORNING SIR AND I DON'T TAKE THAT LONG!"

I actually began to feel threatened over the use of a restroom, as he was right in my face. I left, never to return to this otherwise nice, conveniently located place...

This ranks as one of the most disturbing and strange encounters I've ever had in my long life! I wasn't even going to review this park, and it has taken me months to do so, but thought I should make others aware.

Cell service was decent; we couldn't get wifi. Old but clean bathhouse (inside office). It's a parking lot, but ok for one night.

Stay here one night. Sight was not level. Park seemed like it had better days. Not bad for over night.

None of the sites are really level. There is trash everywhere. I would not plan more than a night here. Friendly staff.

It is a good park for an overnight right by I-40 and hardly any road noise. It is clean and has nice pull throughs. Restaurants 3 minutes from park. I didn’t check the bathrooms.

It does have some pros…close to freeway, relatively quiet from highway noise, area dining. However the cons out wiegh them, i called earlie to get a spot, i did not recieve a call back till next morning(i was already there) out my windshield i starred at a industrial yard, my bedroom window had a security light aimed right at me, the area seems sketchy, office help was not really welcoming, and my pull thru was “tight”. The overall look appears run down by 10 years, i believe if they were to reinvest some resources it could be “nice” once again. All in All it got me off the road so i could recharge, though i said i would stay there again i would probably check out other camp sites 1st…
