Nice managers. Clean, well kept. Spaces cleaned well between guests. A lot of different site types as shown on map. Quiet. Lots of pull thrus. No tents on Rv sites but canopy ok. Some sites could use gravel for winter, may get muddy. If you spill water it makes mud spot. Willapa Bay access via steep staircase. It’s a small bay beach. Many sloughs locally are scenic and state parks in area. If elves are going to bug you, beware, they have many. 🙂

It’s noisy, police and fire stations nearby. Koa’s are often doing monthly and are storage yards for RV’s too. It leads to a non-vacation atmosphere and this is no exception. It’s pretty bleak and it’s not really a good overnight as you can’t get any peace here. Suggest a pass and let it do permanent residents and storage if that’s the business model. Sorry…

Upside: Clean, great bay, quiet. Downside: Spots a bit tight for tow vehicle especially as can’t park on grass. We squished in sideways ok. It’s an RV park not a camping place, no tents etc. Would definitely stay again with this in mind. Overall experience 4 star.

This is a nice place but in summer there is zero shade. It’s breezy and bright. No room for a canopy, you also have to watch the wind with your awning. So you are basically using the shade the RV next door might cast or what your own RV casts. Most people are inside big huge rigs. Managers friendly. Sites clean. Despite many sign not to walk thru camps, people are very lame and did. There is a logging operation on one side, it runs all day. There’s a little train in town tooting it’s horn. There’s a big parking lot adjacent, some van people park there for days and move van around. There’s a little bay and a pier nearby. Seafood at local take out places is great. Overall a nice but UV intense place.🙂

They don’t tidy or check sites between users. Lots of bits and pieces on ground. Plastic caps, etc. Heavy road noise, difficult angles all over camp. Horses look worse for wear, hoof attention needed. Clean paddock needed and fence repair needed. It’s a one night stopover at best. They may rely on quantity over quality here.

Well managed but is what it is: Super close gravel parking lot with view of polluting oil refinery. Suggest not swimming in the bay due to pollution. Same for crabbing etc. look the pollution up, swim somewhere else. Road in tight, rough. West park is some long term behemoths with cluttered surroundings. People’s Knick knacks, not everyone’s jam. Was a one off for us. Sort of stressful being two feet from someone else’s back of rig while they spanked their kid. Ugh, hope you fare better.

The mosquitos are already buzzing. Come prepared. Very prepared. A net on your head might not be too much.... Big park with nice facilities. Interesting historical ramparts from past military history and good to explore Astoria. Active on the job camp hosts. Lots of kids and dogs. Not a party spot though, which is nice. There is a KOA nearby that looks huge if you can't get a spot in the state park. Don't know about the mosquito situation there but they fly so probably. Go but be aware.

If you are really fit and don’t mind a squeeze on trail up and down hills you will like it. Otherwise, you are going just for the camping. Don’t get a spot under leafy trees in Fall, there are orange fruits dropping all over your camp or Rv. On everything. Some spots are muddy needing more rock. Mud between RV pad and fire pit. Dump 2 miles from camp. ATT worked but another provider didn’t. Trails say mask but most people don’t. If you like waterfalls and hiking and don’t mind conditions go.

Upside: Atmosphere. Can hear sea nearby. Nice shore pines. Flat easy to level. Back in sites are well kept.
Downsides: why do rangers/hosts allow big rigs to overload their spots with trucks and boats so their rec vehicles stick out into through road to get to your spot? Bizarre people are so selfishly doing this so other people have to drive near trees over rough land to go around. This ought to be forbidden. Used to be a common sense thing. Needs to be a rule. Many spots close together some shade some not. Some spots super spacious. Pick well.
