This is a great state park and a great spot within reach of so much. From the town of Ouray, to Million Dollar Highway, to Telluride, to Montrose, the list goes on and on. This is an ideal location to explore the San Juans of Colorado.

The only thing to be careful of is the number of chipmunks and them getting into your engine compartment. We had that happen and saw many other chipmunks jumping into engines. AT&T coverage was spotty where our site was along the river.

We stayed here after checking into one of the local county parks and having a pretty bad experience. We were somewhat in a bind so we didn’t have a choice to find a less expensive option. This is your typical KOA where everything is so-so. The surface of our spot was grass and our neighbor had a 5th wheel, his truck, and a boat all parked on his site. It was a bit of a circus. Some of the rigs are run down and some haven’t moved for years. There is a lion safari park next to the KOA and you can hear the lions roar at night and in the morning. That was a pretty cool experience for the family. We didn’t go to the safari park but heard mixed reviews when we were there. Also, it was one of the few KOAs that is gated with codes to access after hours.

Rumor has it this is the first KOA ever. It is a standard KOA quality RV park with nothing to rave over. The price is outrageous for what you get. We stayed here between Yellowstone and North Dakota - one-night stopover. There are some good food options in the park and in Billings.

Find somewhere else to stay and save some money.

We did not end up here by choice. We had booked a site at Devil's Lake State Park but I booked a site that was too small (my mistake). Devil's Lake was crazy packed so, unfortunately, we had to move on. With it being middle of summer, there was not much availability and surrounding campgrounds so we ended up here. As far as a KOA, this was pretty nice. In the long run, it ended up becoming a great location to visit Madison. The grounds were clean and the staff was helpful. It does appear there are a few people that have been there a while.

The WI capital is a great tour if you find yourself downtown.

We splurged and reserved the deluxe patio pull-through. I think that is why my rating is a bit higher than others who have stayed here. The site was level, wide, long, and concrete. It was within close reach to the office, lounge, and laundry. The fire pit was awesome and bring your own firewood since it is very expensive here. This location is down the street from the Grand Ole Opry and about 15-20 minutes to downtown. We also went to a Nashville Predator game and highly recommend it if you get the chance to go and that is your thing.

We stayed here in route to Dallas from Louisiana. It was your typical, large RV Park with a ton of full-time residents. The sites had some overgrowth weeds and the power pedestals were close to the ground. There is a Wal-Mart about 10 minutes north of here. The staff was very welcoming and they even picked up my trash eventhough it wasn’t a service they offered. All in all, a great place to spend a night or two.

We stayed here to visit family in the Katy, TX area. This place is busy, to say the least. There are probably 200+ sites and most seem to be full time residents. The entire park is concrete with small patches of grass. It is as urban as an RV park can get. There are even storage-style roofs in the park and people park under them (maybe weather protection). I originally thought one of the rows was storage but people were living in their RVs below the roofs. In fairness, this park may also be packed with full timers due to Harvey. All in all, find another spot to stay unless you need noise and concrete.

It was raining quite a bit and we were looking for some concrete and laundry. This was our choice and it didn't disappoint. It is better than your average KOA. The Halloween decorations are out and the place looks very festive. The laundry facilities were great and so was the staff. We were about 15 minutes from Williamsburg and Jamestown so it was very manageable. Williamsburg and Jamestown are definitely one-day max stops. If you are an early riser, you may be able to do both in one day.

The walk from the parking area to the tourist portion of Jamestown is about a 15-minute walk. Bring walking shoes.

We chose this location based on recommendations and its somewhat close proximity to Mobile. This place is basically brand new and very nice. We had a few packages shipped here and the staff was more than helpful. They also pick up all of your trash at pretty much anytime of the day. The beaches in this area are amazing. Also, across the street is an entertainment district with some restaurants, hotels, and shopping. We ate at an amazing BBQ place called Blue Water BBQ Company. We have had a ton of BBQ and this is easily in the top three. It was an amazing meal and even friendlier owners. Mobile is about 45 minutes away.

This is a standard RV park with nothing awesome and nothing bad. We stayed here since it was close to Capitol Reef NP. Try to avoid getting into the first row of the RV park - sites 23-29. These sites don't have any grass (other rows do) and you get A LOT of dust. Also, the placement of the fire rings are not ideal. Our fire ring was under the slide of the rig next to us so we were unable to use.

The staff is very friendly and they do have a nightly dinner that you can opt-in to for a fee. The price doesn't justify the grounds.
