Really neat and worth the entrance fee! Crazy Horse often gets compared to Mt Rushmore, but there is so much more to do. The entrance fee (which goes to help continue to carve the mountain) includes getting to go through the museum, see a video, and walk around the area. While we were there, there were even traditional hoop dancers that would do a performance and then give people a chance to ask questions. We brought our dog and he was even allowed in the building. There is a small restaurant and gift shop. You can also pay an additional $4 to take a bus tour down to the construction site.
Loved every minute. We did the scenic loop and wish we had time to stay longer and hike more! (we were just passing through the area and came as a detour). It is breathtakingly gorgeous. There are lots of outlooks to take it all in. Saw so many animals too, very up close. We had our dog in the car and although he wasn't allowed on the trails, he could get out at the picnic areas which was helpful to keep him entertained. Would definitely return without a dog to hike.
Cute stop! It is by a huge rest stop so you can get gas, grab a quick bite, and get out to stretch your legs and walk your dog. There are a few statues, more than just a single moose.
It is in the middle of the Main Street intersection smack dab in the middle of town, so to actually look at it, you look like an idiot tourist and you have to watch for cars. Wasn't the most friendly place, but there are a few restaurants in town that looked appetizing.
Would not recommend unless this is a minor detour for you. The road is long and there aren't that many sculptures. We went in the summer, so maybe in the fall there are things to do as one review wrote, but when we were there it just felt like a long road with a few cool pieces of art around it. Not worth driving out of your way for.
