Booked online a couple of hours before we got here. Nice wooded area walked their nature trail. Store has lots of supplies. Site has table and firepit. Park full but doesn’t seem overcrowded. Clean bathrooms and showers.

Sadly the day we thought we'd stay here it had just rained and we couldn't find a patch of area that we thought we wouldn't get stuck in. The area is beautiful and we hope to come back at a drier time. If you have the right equipment it would be a great place to stay.

This is the closest KOA to the Petrified Forest but it is still a good 20+ miles away. The campsite was comfortable for one night. Bathrooms and showers clean and had cable hookup, Didn't use any other facilities and appreciated that we could walk to a decent restaurant in the area for dinner. Arrived via I-40 after seeing the Painted desert in the Petrified Forest and left via 180 to see the remaining part of the Rainbow forest.

Don't even know where to begin. I booked the site well in advance and when we arrived there was a camper in the spot I booked. There was still someone in the office who said it was the computer's fault that the spot I picked was for a monthly rental. We took the spot next to it and as other reviewers stated had to wait for a park ranger to bring us a bathroom key. If you arrive after 4 you probably can't get one. There was so much wrong with this park, I could go on forever. Didn't like the smell even with rules the monthly users did allow raw sewerage to drain from their rigs, the feral dogs made the rattlesnake and centipede we encountered seem like nothing. My husband had to shovel the dog crap away from our rig so we wouldn't step in it. I think you get my point. Yes, if you can handle the altitude the hiking would be incredible but it was a little to high for us to do the nearby hikes.

Let me start by saying my days of remote camping are mostly behind me. In my youth the thought of staying at a KOA was something old people did, well guess what, I'm that old person now. I admit it, I like my creature comforts even when camping. This park really is a resort. It is conveniently located almost at the entrance of Mesa Verde National Park (about a mile away). It is the only campground I have ever had a person show me the way to my campsite at. The bathrooms are spotless and everyone respects the cleanliness and cleans up after themselves. There is a laundry room with a sink for washing dishes. There is a jacuzzi and an area with gas grills and a firepit - no wood burning allowed (we like that). There is a small pond on the grounds and once you're in the campground there isn't anything close by to walk to but after all you are camping and probably did a lot of walking at Mesa Verde. Staff is great and nice gift shop and camp supplies if you forgot anything. Even a free little library if you want something to read.

Had everything we needed and wanted. Spaces for giant RVs were tight but perfect for our 19’ campervan. We enjoyed our stay. Restrooms and showers were excellent scenery beyond belief. Easy access for area around Monument Valley.

Not too crowded a lot of rigs but not a lot of people. Took advantage of the pool to cool off and spots all have some shade. One night quick stopover right off I-40. Gave AAADiscount.

First off don't use GPS to get here. We did not note any sites with hookups as previous reviewer had stated. Park is quiet, there are flush toilets in the campgrounds and beautiful scenery for days. The sites have a nice table with built in shade cover. We sat outside on a non moon night and stared at the Milky Way as long as we could. The hiking is great and you get to see so many ruins. Just a great out of the way, off the beaten path place to go.

Tried to check this place out on our way back from Borrego Springs but didn't trust our vehicle to get there (or out of there) so we turned around. It is so remote and on a dirt road that didn't look like we could make it. Proceed with caution.

Lucky to not have anyone next to us. Came for the lunar eclipse and it did not disappoint. Water and electric hookups. Great trails with hills in the mountains elevation 4100 so no surprise. Clean bathrooms and showers. Playground for the kids and cabins for the non rv or tent crowd. Bluebirds and woodpeckers abound.
