Stayed 2 nights at Hickory Hill Campground, right next to the water. Apparently Hickory Hill is the only full hookup “modern” campground (other sites called “semi-modern” don’t have sewer). Went paddle boarding with our pups both days (a Wed & Th at the end of a August) and felt like we had the lake to ourselves — there was no one else there! Can’t comment on the bathrooms because we didn’t use them while we were there, but everything else seemed well kept.

Stayed for one night on our way home to Colorado from visiting family on the east coast. What a gorgeous, picturesque campground just minutes from the interstate! Tons of big rig sites with water/electric right on the water at the Big Bluestem campground. Very clean and well kept. We didn’t have any tree cover at our site so it got a bit hot, and had a little trouble finding the dump station on the way out, but those were the only minor issues.

Stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night in late August. Even though it was the weekend, the campground and lake were peaceful. We booked the week of and there we still a few big rig spots with electric and water available…I was pleasantly surprised! I was pleasantly surprised again when we arrived and the gorgeous campsite was so close to the water and decently spaced from other sites. Only issue we had was our campsite was pretty steep and we hit our back bumper on the ground when pulling into and out of our spot. Not all the campsites were like that though - the ones right on the water were much more level (we were on the inner ring where the campsites were higher than the outer ring campsites that were right on the water). Would stay again for sure but would pick a different site.

Oh and I should mention that their website was one of the best I have ever used for booking a campsite reservation. We had to move our booking twice and it was so painless!
