My wife and I speak the weekend here to attend the pickle festival. It isn’t much at the moment but the base structure is nice. There’ll be no problem for any size rig. Plenty of pull thru sites and some back in. I chose site B33 so I could be along the tree line and close to the latrines. Very minimal leveling needed and only because I’m a little OCD lol. It’s close to I-95 but far enough away you don’t hear the traffic. The latrines and showers are nice, large stalls and were clean. They also have a nice little pavilion but that’s it for now. There are plans for more amenities so be patient. I have Verizon and at my site I had 3 bars and 5G. They do have free wifi and it was good at my site (I didn’t have full wifi strength) but the cell data was a little faster. At the gas station on the corner is a Brothers Italian Kitchen, very good and would recommend. The Carolina Premium Outlet mall is just a few minutes up the road along with many restaurants. It is a nice, peaceful campground with lots of potential. I would recommend it and would definitely stay again.

Booked two rv sites for this past Labor Day weekend for my wife and I and her sister’s family. Very easy to get to, paved roads. Saw some class C motorhomes in there. I did not check out the entire campground so not sure how big an rv can fit so best to just call.

This campground is a little over a year old. We stayed in Area C (sites 41 & 42) which is considered the Main Campus, has the camp office and bath house there. Our rv sites were gravel, required some leveling, had FHUs. 50/30/20 amp service, water and sewer of course. All worked great, no issues. Site included a trash can, fire pit with affixed grill and a picnic table. My camper is 23 ft long and tow vehicle is an F150. I unhooked and had just enough room to park off to the side in front of my camper. The spots are very spaced so if you don’t have room like that you may be able to park beside the site like my in laws did.

While we didn’t use them, they have an activity room, saw a projector screen in there and a table, they had an area behind the activity room, kind of like an outdoor hangout, lights, fire pit , chairs. Bathhouse is code locked and was clean. They have a fenced in dog park area centrally located in area c, seemed of good size with lots of trees. They have a little sand pit area for kids to play in.

The staff are very friendly. They have a small camp store just down the road from the entrance to the campground. Just past the camp store is the trailhead to the water falls.

Unfortunately my back wasn’t feeling great and my wife recently had surgery on her foot. We did hike back there some. There are 4 waterfalls according to their map. Unfortunately it was pretty dry so there wasn’t much waterfall action. The upper falls was pretty cool. We couldn’t make it to all of the falls.

They do have free wifi available but I can’t speak much on it. The signal for it at my campsite wasn’t very good so I didn’t use it. I have Verizon and had 3 bars and LTE and the data signal was strong for me. Was able to stream, FaceTime, pretty much whatever I wanted. Of course, I’m not sure if it’s like the everywhere in the campground, but where I was it worked great.

Overall, very pleased with our stay and definitely want to come back when we’re doing better to check out all the falls and do some swimming.

My wife and I spent one night here out of necessity but would definitely return to actually visit and relax. It’s right on the Santee lake and even though we didn’t have a lakefront site we could still easily see it from ours. We didn’t get to just walk around and check things out but the staff were very friendly. I did use their restroom and it was clean. We did like how there were many birds active and chirping, there were some squirrels, we love all the critters.

It’s right off I-95, getting to it is simple. It can be a little tight in some spots but anything should be able to get through where your rig will fit. Our site did require a good bit of leveling. Plenty of water pressure, will definitely want a pressure regulator.

They serve Hunt Brothers pizza from the office. You can call and place an order, they’ll charge it to your card on file if you’d like, they’ll even deliver it to your site. And the pizza was phenomenal!!

Overall we were pleased and would be happy to visit again.

We spent the last week of July 2022 here, last year for mustang week. As anyone should suspect, it was busy. Golf carts are everywhere, as expected, and they seemed to have a golf cart parade almost every night. Despite that, when we were at our campsite (site 788), it wasn’t so bad.

They have 3 different food trailers that come there at different times throughout the week. We ate from the BBQ one and it was pretty good, you get a good hefty portion. We really enjoyed the funnel cake trailer, though we didn’t get a funnel cake lol. I got their deep-fried Oreos, and they were great. Most I’ve had have a ton of batter on them and sometimes isn’t cooked all the way through. I got these three times during our stay and each time they were just right, just enough batter to cover them and fried to perfection in my opinion. My wife got deep fried cheesecake and loved it, said it was rich in flavor. She also got the deep-fried banana pudding and enjoyed that as well.

We used the laundry facility once during our stay. We didn’t have any problems but there were a few washers giving a customer some problems, but a maintenance guy was there quickly and fixed the problem. There isn’t any hot water washing which wasn’t a concern for us. The campground store was sufficient. We used the restrooms a couple times while we were out walking, and they were decent considering how many people are there.

The lazy river and pool are very nice, and we enjoyed those. While there are a lot of people in there during the day, it really wasn’t all that bad, still plenty of room to move around and not feel like your over capacity in an elevator. They have a kid’s sections that looks cool as well.

Our site, 788, was large and easy to get into. FHUs and all worked fine. Did need some minor leveling, it’s sand. Plenty of room for parking. There isn’t a fire pit because fires aren’t allowed. Easy access to the beach.

The staff was very friendly and professional. They have staff on patrol riding around on golf carts. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Very nice campground, very friendly. Spaces are not on top of each other, easy to get in and out of and can accommodate the largest of rigs. Restrooms and laundry facilities were nice, they have some playgrounds and lakes for fishing. Being next to the interstate the noise wasn’t as bad as we thought it was going to be, we weren’t woke up at night.

We survived Winter Storm Izzy 😂 (stayed 14 Jan - 17 Jan 2022) no issues with anything. They cover their hose pipes with a plastic barrel and have a work light inside as well. Our camper doesn’t have a cable hookup but we do have a powered antenna and once it finished scanning, we got 8 channels, the first thing to pop up was the Andy Griffith Show. We got a little chuckle out of that, wasn’t expecting that to be the first thing to pop up.

We like Mt. Airy because of the Andy Griffith history but also because of Miss Angels Heavenly Pies. We spent over $50 on pies. Large, unique selection of pies and other scrumptious goodies. We will be back when it’s warmer so we can better take in more of the Andy Griffith sites.

We are TT members so staying here didn’t cost anything.

There isn’t anything tricky about getting to the campground. Once in the campground it can be tight but just take your time and you’ll get through, big rigs of all sorts in there.

The spaces are pretty tight but thankfully, everyone was really friendly so it wasn’t to bad. Had no issues with any of the hookups. We stayed in site 765, gravel pull through. Needed some good leveling.

They have a nice sized clubhouse, restrooms are much cleaner there than the bathhouses. There is a pool, small, and a separate kiddie pool with one mushroom thing in it. You can fish, catch and release, didn’t fish so don’t know how good the fishing is.

They have a pretty nice trail system. There are some waterfalls, another lake with a damn and some nice views. Some of the trails are pretty steep.

We have Verizon. Where we were we had 2 bars and 4G LTE but it didn’t work well. They have wifi. We did use it, it was good enough, have 5mb download speed. Where we were sometimes we’d lose signal briefly but it would come back and work fine the majority of the time.

Ate at the Dodge City Steakhouse just a couple minutes from the campground, very good.

The staff we interacted with were very nice. You have to choose your site when you check in (not a fan of this), you can’t drive around and pick what you want like some other TT campgrounds allow. They may give you options, probably depends on the size of your rig. The first one we chose we didn’t like but they allowed us to change to another site, we didn’t set up, just pulled up to it and didn’t like it. Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed ourselves.

I was stationed at Jackson from’07-‘09 and the only thing that has really changed is the dam is being worked on so you can only observe the lake, no swimming, boating, anything on the lake until repairs are completed. The receptionist said they’ve been working on it for maybe 4 years. Hopefully it’ll be completed sooner than later. The grounds could be kept up a little better as could the restrooms/bath houses but I imagine they lost some revenue due to the lake being closed for dam repairs.

There isn’t any concerns getting back here, the biggest rigs will not have any problems. All sites are large concrete pads, FHU. Most sites are spaced very well, some better than others but you won’t be on top of anyone whichever site you’re at. They have a large concrete patio area, nearly the size of the pad itself with a picnic table and fire pit/grill and stand alone grill.

Verizon cell coverage is adequate. I had 2 bars and LTE, sometimes 5G. Not like being in the city but sufficient. No wifi.

There are cabins and tent sites as well. This isn’t a large campground but there were still a few open spaces.

There will be various bugle calls throughout, morning, day and night. You may hear firing range training going on in the distance. You should expect this and it should not be seen as negative, you’re on a military campground.

Current RV site price a night is $35, if you have a National park pass it’s $32.50. Despite the lake being off limits right now I will still come back. Once it’s opened back up I’m sure it will be more busy, right now it’s very peaceful.

Excellent campground. Staff was very friendly. This is a spacious campground and easy to navigate even with a big rig. Loop C is newer than A & B loops. Plenty of amenities, pool, basketball court, disc golf, nice clubhouse with pool tables and other games/lounging, Lewis Smith Lake, nice playground, horseshoes, a lake overlook with gazebo and mini golf though it was missing the artificial grass, not sure if it closed permanently or down for repairs. Cullman has the Ave Maria Grotto, a definite must see IMO, Huntsville has the US Space and rocket museum and Redstone Arsenal Army Base. I didn’t get to it but Birmingham has the Civil Rights Institute and the 16th Street Baptist Church and Tupelo is Elvis’s birthplace.

Facilities in my loop are very nice and clean. There is a boat launch and nice dock and a small waterfall behind it as well. Jasper and Cullman are the closest cities, about a 20-30 minute drive. There is a nearby gas station and Dollar General.

Verizon signal is very sketchy, and non existent depending on where you are in the campground. I was able to make calls but that was it. They do have wifi, free at the clubhouse and a couple other spots. The have campground wide wifi that you can pay for, I stayed for a week and it was $14.95. They have other lengths of time to choose from. It was pretty good for me, Internet usage was good, FaceTime calls were ok ish, cut in and out but phone calls were fine.

Sites are gravel, full hook up, and there are 5 tent camping sites. Minor leveling needed for my spot. There are quite a few permanent campers in the good spots with views of the lake, that was kind of a bummer but not detrimental. Site was very large, enough for another camper to fit. It had a nice fire pit ring that doubled as a grill you could flip over and use and had a picnic table. Some birds and squirrels, nothing exciting. Overall, very nice, clean and quiet campground, would recommend visit again.

Nice campground, RIGHT ON THE RIVER. The spots not directly in the river ain’t but a stones throw away. The spots on the river are darn near in the river lol. It is really cool being that close to the river.

It’s right off the main road, no one should have any trouble getting back there and in their spot. The have a couple spots for big rigs, 5th wheels. $34 for full hook up isn’t bad.

I didn’t but there has to be some good fishin to be had there. Lots of current and they have some pictures posted of some pretty nice catches, though I didn’t pay to much attention to the dates of those pictures.

The office/store doesn’t have much. I can’t comment on the facilities. They are locked with a key pad and only available to campers without their own restroom, some covid policy stuff.

I just spent the night here passing though on my way home. I did make a reservation but there were many spots open. I believe a reservation is required but don’t quote me on that.

The sites are gravel, or at least the patio area is. It was raining off and on and was pretty muddy in spots. My camper isn’t very big so I put my passenger side wheels just on the edge of the gravel patio so my entry steps wouldn’t be in the mud and I was nearly level, side to side was good, only needed a small adjustment front to rear.

It’s down in a valley with mountains on either side. There is a train on the other side of the river. There were some geese and ducks congregating in the water near my camper at night, was pretty cool to see so many in one area.

There is a waterfall across the street and a nicer one just down the road. I have Verizon and had 4 bars cellular signal and was showing LTE but it was incredibly slow if it worked at all. I would visit again for sure.
