Second time here. Love it! Guided tour ($2) three years ago hit some different sites than one this year. All very nice. Many pictographs. Don’t miss Cave Kiva (on self guided North Mountain) to see 8 pictographs. Great clambering around on the rocks. Site #1 was great!

Highest site in CG. Did use 4x4 to back trailer last 10 feet due to tires slipping on pea gravel. Beautiful sunsets, stars and looking down onto Deming. Deming Mimbres museum not to be missed. Bike and hike to Lovers Leap trail was strenuous but well worth it. Amazon Hub pickup at Cookie Jar in Deming was convenient (and very good brownies and pecan bars!). Never did see Ibex’s although I looked for them. We would definitely return here.

Note: we had reserved site 39 which is listed as suitable for up to 40’ rig. No way. Very steep up and down pull through with rock jutting out and rock wall limiting maneuverability. Probably car or B Van only. There was an open 1st come site we could get our 26’ Airstream in although leveling a bit difficult, went 4 lego blocks high on passenger side. Otherwise a great park! Nice hike to Table Mountain with great views, very nice biking/hiking trails. Beautiful night sky and sunset. We will definitely come back but be more selective on the reserved site!

Really enjoyed the South Mtn to North Mtn hike. A bit strenuous, but 2.3 miles from camp site takes about 90 min. Kayaked lake, a bit small, only 2.5 miles to do perimeter but easy boat launch. You get a nice view of the Twin Peaks from the lake. The central shower/bathrooms were excellent. Did get a pic of a bear on my critter cam on one of the nearby trails. However, there is no dump site at the campground and using the nearby commercial RV park would be $25 to dump, which is quite a negative in my mind.

We were here 3 years ago when all was FCFS, now mostly reserved which is fine as I plan our trips well in advance. The Sonoran desert museum was worth a 2nd visit! I also enjoyed the hike loop of King Canyon to Wesson Peak and down Gould Mine trail. Very good views! Good bike ride down McCain Rd to hwy, very light traffic. We’ll be back!

Not what you’d think of as a ‘camping experience’ since it is basically a round parking lot with gravel and bumper to bumper rigs. There were two decent washers and dryers. Since our main objective here was to be able to visit Old Town Bisbee and go on the mine tour this worked out well. Also agree with another review that the large gravel parking lot rocks were not comfortable for our elderly dog to walk on. Besides just looking around town and finding great restaurants I had a mission to find some Bisbee Turquoise, and I did! Several shops carried jewelry made with it. This campground was as expected from reading Campendium reviews. It’s just one of those that is more about what it gives access to rather than the campground itself.

We were here 3 years ago and did the ‘Big Room’ tour. This time did the ‘Rotunda and Throne Room’ tour. AZ has done an exceptional job making this cave accessible and keeping it preserved. Very nice collection of cave formations (a ‘living’ cave, so not done yet!). I also did the Guindani Loop including Cottonwood Saddle - about 9 miles total from campground. Very nice, only saw a couple of deer but great vista views.
Very nice dark skies as well.
