This campground is awesome. Most of the sites have good shade from lots of trees overhead. They have grills, concrete pads, decent Wi-Fi, and a bath house with laundry. The park is right on the Choctawhatchee Bay and you can rent paddle boards and kayaks from the office. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful.

My only complaint would be that site 12’s sewer connection is a bit tall, and my RV is closer to the ground, so draining tanks was a hassle. The Mid-Bay Bridge is right nearby and can be a bit noisy with cars, but it didn’t bother us any.

Overall, we liked Water’s Edge and would stay there again.

The sites are a little close together but the location and peacefulness make up for it. Each site has a small charcoal grill and there is a public firepit with chairs and cornhole boards. There is a men’s and women’s restroom, each with one toilet, sink and shower on the back side of the General Store for people staying in the campground. There are also laundry facilities on site. The park has wi-fi but it was slow and did not work very well.

With regard to reserving a site: if you want a particular site, call to ensure you get the one you want. The online reservation system they use will automatically bump you out of the site you chose and into another if a customer that is going to be staying longer makes a reservation for that same site. We didn’t really have a preference and ended up in a site that we felt was better than our original so we didn’t mind but this could be a problem for folks who request a particular site because of the size of their rig or some other need for a specific site.

The manager was very helpful however, some of the other employees that work behind the counter in the General Store didn’t seem to know how to correctly check people in to the campground. The issue was corrected and didn’t cause any more than an inconvenience.

If you’re in this part of Florida for fishing or access to the water, the location is ideal. There are several boat ramps to access area waters within a few miles. The location near St Joseph Peninsula State Park and in between Apalachicola and Port St Joe makes accessing all of those locations a breeze.

Bootheel’s check in process is very simple and convenient. Their customer service is great and they are very friendly. If no one is present, you simply choose a site, fill out the sheet for that site and put it in their drop box with your method of payment. The sites are level and have good power and water. The park is well laid out and easy to drive through which helped arriving after dark go smoothly. There is a bit of noise from the interstate, as it is very close. Though the park is right near the interstate, it is about 6 miles from the exit off of 55 to get to it. Site 42 and some of the sites and roads around it were pretty muddy but it was manageable. Overall, a good place to stay and we’ll do it again, when passing through.

We stayed one night on our way to South Florida. The campground was clean and quiet, and backs up against a field with cows. We got there after they had closed, but they left our paperwork for us and getting to our site was very easy. The bath house is very nice.

This park is very nice and very quiet for its proximity to the highway. The sites are a little close, but they are concrete and level. They have Tengointernet that you would typically pay for but they give you free logins at check-in. It’s very fast and easy to use. Their restrooms have toilets and showers and are nice and well maintained. They also have a limited exercise area and laundry facilities on site. For food and supplies, Kroger, Walmart and a few restaurants are only a few minutes away. We’ll stay here again when back in the area.

This park is really very nice. Immediately upon check-in you see how new and clean the facilities are. They have a nice little store at the check in office and a pool table. All the park’s roads are paved and the sites are nice, wide, level concrete pads. The bathroom, laundry and shower facilities are also very nice, new and clean. For how near it is to the interstate, there’s very little road noise. There’s a nice playground for the kids.

This is a nice enough park for a quick overnight stay but the water quality is very poor. We didn’t yet know any better and my wife got a glass of water and said it tasted awful. According to some internet articles, Edgewood is in the middle of a fight over their public water supply and overall, their water quality rating, and that of Santa Fe county, is very low.

It wouldn’t be my first choice but this is not a bad spot for an overnight stay when passing through on Interstate 8. There are some large dairy farms nearby so, when the wind blows from that direction, the smell can be very strong. If you can get past that, the campground office has a good selection of wine and beer, the laundry room is good, the price is fair and the scenery is good as you’re right on the edge of the desert.

This is a good little park if you are passing through on I-10 or you want to be near, but not on, the emerald coast. You have quick access to Fort Walton Beach, Eglin AFB and Destin. You also have Blackwater River State Forest nearby. The sites are long and level with gravel and grass. Each has a picnic table. There’s a nice laundry room and very clean restroooms with showers. It is less than one minute to the I-10 on/off ramp. You can not check in after 9pm and they only accept cash or check. Overall, a good place to stay.

We stayed for a night on our way across Texas and really liked the park. There are a lot of full-time residents and snowbirds who were all very friendly. My leveling system was having trouble because the site was a little tricky and I was offered help from some of the locals right away. The weather was great so we sat outside for a drink with some of them. There’s a ton of good shade from the large oak trees all over the property. The laundry and bath facilities are nice and well kept. Access from the north requires a u-turn on 281, which can be very tricky during high traffic times.
