First, the location is called The Banks Campground.
I just wanted a reprieve from the Insanity of our state fires plus the overwhelming negative attitude across the country post-Stay At Home mandatory order.
New picnic tables, nice tent base, New fire ring and large vault bathrooms. Each one had up to 8 rolls of toilet paper.
The views are wonderful and I enjoyed the perfect sunsety first night with a bit of rain.
Road up becomes challenging as it is not graded and reminds me of our mountain passes.
Not recommended for your New rig. Truck campers would be my second choice to tent camping even though they have several pull throughs on Loop B.
Brought books, food, water, firewood, camera, first aid kit and great hiking boots.
Rejuvenated. Amazed. Thankful. Quiet. Excellent getaway with back up supplies 15 miles away. BLM land that is set up to really enjoy.

No dispersed camping within the White River National Forest via the Dylan ranger station.
Signs posted no camping.
Arrived in the late evening to find a small Campground just off the highway. Appears to be very similar to a rest stop along a major highway. The only difference is there is a lake across the street. However, the price of $25 is overpricing with a lack of amenities such as spigots for water source, hot showers, laundry facilities, and power hookups. It is too much like a forest service location to be priced like a state park. Location to reach a ferry is ideal or a one-night stay. Would not recommend multiple nights. No discounts offered.

There are now a total of 29 sites with multiple pull through for a large rig and multiple sites for trailers as well as tent pad sites. All new metal fire rings with a picnic table at each site. There are two group campsites. A total of five vault toilets available. Upgraded trail systems. New signage telling you more about the area. Firewood allowed in fire rings. No water or electricity as this is dry camping only. This is a "pack it in and pack out" campground! There is no trash pickup so you are responsible!
Excellent climbing area along with wildlife viewing and trails.
Rate increase starts April 1st, 2024. At $20 per night. Read the reservation guidelines for more information.

According to their website the campground is closed due to a family loss.
When I consider camping there are four points that add or subtract a campground from my possibilities.
This location has a congested set-up with no space, wildlife, shade or promotion of typical camping among nature, but, rather a three foot space between you and your neighbor, the roadways and a busy, heavily used County Road, along with the Toll Road. No peacefulness here at all.
Pricing of goods/services rendered are the same as a cheap motel room, so why camp?
Quiet locations promote the appreciation of nature, sharing time with your family and teaching your grandchildren about "true" camping without electrical devices. Nothing congenial about this area.
Bike trails are a given when I head out to camp for a month or so and the only thing close to this campground is County Road 4 with more traffic than a country girl wants to hear much less fight for biking space with on the nearby road.
Just because the National Forest isn't outside their back door, doesn't mean it shouldn't feel as if it isn't there.

A very peaceful location bring a book, a fishing rod, your bike and hiking boots. Bring what you need for supplies as there are no stores close by. Extra fuel probably wouldn't hurt if you plan on heading out for an adventure. Definitely bring your camera and binoculars. I'll be back!

My experience with this family owned campground was perfect. All the amenities covered at the price paid this year will increase the value for next year.
Fall with some late spring/early summer time will be spent in this area so finding the ideal location close to family at a great price was pertinent.
For families this location has activities that will suffice everyone. So, for the Indiana resident, this is a good family campground to consider.
Clean facilities are key for my seal of approval.

Whether one is on the road with a one night stay in mind or a week long vacation in Summit this is a centrally located base camp.
My stays have spanned a few years of diversified stays of one night to 12 nights with and without any reservations. It is wise to reserve here for the weekend.
Found staying in the bay quiet, enjoyed viewing osprey and walking the trails around the shore.
Hopefully we are blessed with Mike & Joy as camp hosts again next year.
