Needed a break from driving from PA to Fl. We always feel more comfortable staying at Cracker Barrels than rest stops or Walmarts. If the “Bus/RV” spots are taken, you are requested to park farther out in the parking lot along edges. We always buy dinner or breakfast to show our appreciation for having these spots available to us. Felt like a safe area, other campers around, server and food in restaurant very good. Would visit again while traveling.

Dog friendly, small campground with old Georgia feel. Lots of old oaks with Spanish moss. All sites are close but in amongst the trees. Neighbors respect each other and are friendly. We were in site #3. If you’ve made a reservation online you just proceed to your rented site. Sites are gravel and pretty close to level. Full hookups at all which include electric, water and sewer. You will get a password for the WiFi in your confirmation email. Cable is also provided at your site just need your own cord to connect. We couldn’t connect because our cord wasn’t long enough because we backed in and set up too far from the connection. We received about 35 tv channels on just the antenna.
You must be able to be self contained in your camper/RV (the reason they provide everything for you to hook up) because they do NOT have a dump station or a bathhouse. They also do NOT have individual fire rings at your site. You only have a picnic table. A community fire pit is available(call office for free firewood if you wish to do a fire) and located in front of laundry house. If you reserved for a week or more, laundry is free (call office for the code). Website states that staying only overnight, it would be a minimum charge of $10 and not free (you still need to call office). Brian answered the phone (I called to get the code) was very pleasant & helpful. They do not provide detergent so bring your own. What a very nice perk with the free laundry & firewood!
Piggly Wiggly grocery store is literally across the street. Outside of store doesn’t look that great but inside is nice, clean and well stocked with what you may need in groceries. Employees were friendly. Exit campground and go left one city block and a very cute place called “Barraco’s Bakery” is worth a visit. We just walked there. Has baked goods, sandwich items, espresso beverages. etc. We had lattes (good but milk steamed a wee bit too hot in temp.) The bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a grilled bagel were delicious! Very friendly owner & the local customers that came in while we were there gave us a good amount of info. on places and things to do nearby. ACE hardware was about 6 city blocks from campground exit in same direction (which we did need to utilize). Employees again, very friendly and store well stocked.
Site seeing close by: St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Brunswick. All worth visiting and walking around. The beaches, houses, piers, parks, streets, mossy covered trees, historical sites are all very pretty & take you back in time and some areas were modern, as well. Bike riding trails in abundance, lots of places are dog friendly (read up on which locations you can’t have them at). Lots of restaurants and this area is well known for the best and sweetest shrimp around (shrimping boats everywhere) and you have to try the REAL “Brunswick Stew”. We got ours along with a great pulled pork sandwich at Southern Soul BBQ on St. Simons Island on Demere Rd. Right up the road from there we finished with a delicious latte at “Wake Me Coffee” at Aviator Plaza. If you are in need of Lowes, Home Depot, Joann Fabrics (all the normal chain shopping stores) you can find in nearby Brunswick about 25 min. South off 95, Rt. 17 or Rt. 99. I would return and stay here again while traveling from PA to FL.

Called late after hours. Debbie answered and had a spot for us. Must register and pay online first & you will get a confirmation email right away. Will need license plate (& if towing need camper license # too). They will ask for your “RV” # first, make and model then your tow vehicle #, make & model. Have your driver’s license # and credit card ready. If driving..pull over cause it will take about a minute to fill in info. The cost is $35/night. You have gated entrance, security lights at night, full hookups (including sewer), 2 bathhouses (have to enter with a key code #) and they include outdoor dog wash stations, a fenced in dog run with waste bags and container to put in, 2 dumpsters by entrance gate and host on site. You do not have fire pits or picnic tables as this is not a long term stay facility. You will here road noise but didn’t bother us. We definitely would stay again. Felt very safe and Debbie (the host) was wonderful!!!!

We arrived on a Sat. Office was closed but signs instructed us to go straight to our reserved site. There is instructions to follow if you don’t have a reservation, as well. Site was long, gravel and easy to back into. Had to pull on blocks to level but wasn’t off by much. We had water, electric and sewer, fire ring and 8’ picnic table (which is on a gravel pad like our parking area). Park has 35 sites & a few cabins. Space between sites is nice. We had a lovely view of the woods. There are hiking trails, a bathhouse in the middle which is fairly new, extremely clean and spacious. Wood was available at office or the camp host site (#32) for $7/bundle. It is dog friendly and trails are easy to hike. I would ONLY change the time that the gate closes & locks at night. It is for our protection BUT if you go sightseeing or to dinner somewhere, I would be very nervous trying to get back before it locks because you won’t be able to enter until the morning if you are late. We will definitely be back again!!!! We did receive a senior discount.

We arrived 2 days ago with no reservation. Was given a list of sites available & told to go pick our site and come back to office to check in. Found a lovely site, full hookup which includes sewer. Nice bathhouses. Grounds are lovely. Has a gorgeous spring that you can swim in that stays 72 degrees year round. You are allowed alcohol at your site but not at the springs or their day use picnic area. Also has a big area just for tents. Lowes, Home Depot and plenty of shopping is 25 min. north. Come out of park, go right about 2 blocks and a fully stocked Dollar General, Pizza shop and Laundromat. Go left about 1/2 mi. has 2 gas stations, and. Taco place. Go left about 6 min. and there is a bar called Cactus Jacks. Want ice-cream go to Pizza shop or buy at Dollar General (has good amount of groceries). We will definitely cone here again. Paid $38 a night with America the Beautiful senior pass.
