Super deep, flour fine dust. Road in was dry when we stayed, but if wet it would be a nightmare of mud. There are plenty of sites here; we counted 8, and there were probably more beyond where we camped.

Far enough off hwy to be quiet; lake access; picnic Ramada. Old, but is being remodeled & updated as of Nov 2020. Deer mow the lawn at night. Easy access off Hwy. Several permanent/seasonal RV's, but many open spots when we were there. Friendly staff. Didn't use facilities, but grounds were well kept. Could be a beautiful park if renovations are done right.

Oliver Lee was full, this dispersed area worked fine. About a dozen sites, some suitable for big rigs, some sized for tent camping. Other boondockers were quiet when we were there. Typical desert scrub & sites were relatively clean (didn't see any toilet paper scattered around), no shade. Thong man not present (although we met him last year in another location).

July 2020; 107 degrees when we pulled in at 2:30. Just wanted a place to chill in our A/C, and this was fine. Winkelman Park is closed as of this date, as is Kearny Park, so it was this or continue on to Tucson. Hwy noise was hard to hear over the A/C, so all was good.

Good base for exploring Mesa Verde, Chimney Rock, surrounding area. FR 316 is a little rough, but no big deal if you go slow. Best thing is great cell signal. Worst thing is the powder fine dust that gets everywhere. Traffic was heavy on weekend, but tapered off weekdays.

July 2020, hot, needed a place to stay at some altitude with shade. This fit the bill for that. Good location for visiting Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, and the various pueblo/cliff dwelling ruins. Flagstaff close with all amenities. Cell signal went from LTE to zero and back in seconds, with the phone in the exact same spot the whole time.

$20 cash, no amenities, no cell service, marginal shade some sites. Easy in, easy out. Just off hwy at bottom of hill, so trucks using engine brake are loud. If you're looking for cheap with hookups it's ok for a night.

Nice location for exploring El Morro & El Malpais. As of 6/23/2020 the Joe Skeen BLM campground is closed, as are many of the forest roads. Blue Spruce has wifi, laundry, full hookups, dump station. Just across the interstate from 'downtown' Grants. Trains go by several times a night, but other than that it is quiet. Several long term tenants in Blue Spruce, but was only half full for our stay.

Older place with mature trees and lots of long term RV's. Good for kids and dogs. Quiet at night. Looong sites, so be aware of the length of your electric cord and sewer hose. Laundry room. Dump site near laundry available for $5, if that's all you need. Decent Verizon signal, although we couldn't stream Netflix. Site host was welcoming. About an hour from Show Low, less from Petrified Forest.
