Beautiful but we were warned that the large sheep dogs were attacking dogs at camps when the sheep were coming through. Also one of the sheep dogs pooped at our camp and it had tapeworms in it

Love this forest service campground!! The hosts, Norm and Jody, we're the friendliest hosts we've ever come across. Half of the campground is by reservation now and half remains first come first serve. The road and sites are paved, flush toilets and beautiful scenery. Some people were getting cell reception if they had cell boosters. If not, there is reception a couple of miles away. Regular price is $26. It's half that if you have an Access Pass (America the Beautiful).

We stayed in F loop. We had hoped for a lake view but couldn't see it from our site. Alot of the sites in F are paved and mostly level. Our site was long enough to stay hooked up and had a little space in the sides. Beautiful old trees surrounded the area. Registration told us that sites in E loop were level but they were not. They were uneven dirt and small. We would stay as an overnight but not a destination. The roads inside the recreation area are horrible. They are rutted old asphalt and dirt.
