As others have said, nice for an overnight. It was 9° when I got here late at night. Woke up to a muted sunrise above the lake. Very quiet.

I think the reviews “quiet and chill” and “nice with some oddities” hit it exactly! For me, the experience here is very site-dependent. It seems like a big part of the mobile/nomad life is knowing yourself and what you need. For me, I like free camping or camping that is low cost and supports a small town or state park. I love to have hookups but don’t need them. My too two priorities are views and quiet. Once I moved to site B I had the best views of my 3-week wander so far. I work and write full time so views are necessary for my soul and inspiration! On noise, the campground itself is very quiet, but road noise can be an issue. Again, somewhat but not entirely site dependent. But, the bottom line for me is you cannot beat this mix of quaint, cute, and clean, with location with views of the Rio Grande and Sandia Mountains, and with wifi included as well as 3-4 bar cell reception, all for an amazingly reasonable fee! Now if they’d move that road... (note the fee I listed is for the 2nd site I got that just had electric, the first one was $25 with water).

Basically ditto on all the other 5* reviews. They definitely are building a second set of sites with hookups, and the dozers started at 8 am complete with back up beeping... but even so well worth one night. Love how spaced out the sites are. No bugs when I was here. I arrived about 5:30 and they had two sites left I reserved, though more were actually open. The main thing for me was the great views. Lots of walking trails all around. Saw Buffalo and Pronghorns on my drive around. Very peaceful at night. I had 1-2 bars of Verizon the whole time and it was easy to sit in on a virtual conference I needed to attend for work in the morning but I wouldn’t have wanted to be running the meeting. Unique experience.

I agree with all the earlier reviews and add my thanks to the Andrew’s CoC!! I would just add that I pulled in around 10 and got the very last spot! It may be getting more popular? I would also add that with just one fan on inside I did not hear much road noise especially after midnight and no other noises really to speak of. What a find!! The absolute only downside is no view but ... that’s not the point here!

Previous review said free so I drove out of my way (hey, I’m cheap!) but it was $20/ night. Beautiful spot on the lake and clean pit toilet. I would give a 5 for site quality inly if it were full it would be pretty close together. I was the o oy non-host there though. Great site w creek rushing by to the lake.

I arrived about 8 pm on a Sunday night and had the place to myself.
Cons: very small, hard to park without blocking the loop, looks like a well-worn ATV trail but I had no issues, 0-1 bar Verizon, I would not bring a big rig down here! Also some idiot left a bag of trash nearby.
Pros: Not far off Hwy 2, very quiet-a couple of trains could be heard, lovely view with pond, trees, rolling hills.

I agree with other reviews. It is a basic campground and I’m not sure it’d be worth $23 other than the proximity to the freeway and the city of Couer d’Alene. But that said it was quiet, clean, and the host was lovely and kind, and site 19 at the end was perfect for my 19’ van to back into at the very end of the road so very private and surrounded by trees. Walked the loop to the lake and back in about 40 minutes. Creek was dry :-(. Good signal for me; I worked using my hotspots for an hour or so and watched Netflix for an hour after it got dark.

Had a reservation for four nights and the park is beautiful and well kept and the rangers are nice however once I arrived at my site (it was nice!) I discovered that the dump is not working, in some places it says “for 2021.” Decided that if I needed to come back and forth out of the park to dump would come another time when things are working.

Can never get over how nice this hospitality to RVers is. I’m from the Midwest and we have nothing like this! Was clean and perfect when I dumped black and grey and filled my water tank. Easy to use. Convenient.
I don’t know what it’s supposed to be here, but there was just a steep hill with a gate at the end of it. That was a lot of driving for no joy
