I was extremely road weary, and having trouble finding availability for a Friday night between Scranton and Harrisburg off Rt 81. (Note to self: always make weekend reservations.) I was grateful this Mom & Pop operation had one site left out of 100+, and amazed to find they take care of the whole place by themselves. Packed in like sardines with no privacy felt like heaven to me.
The pool was packed away for the winter, but pretty big. The Nature Trail was a nice 1/2 mile straight up, straight down jaunt perfect for shaking out my road weary bones.
Two 60 second showers (push button for more type), and a shared dressing room for the women was spotless.
Verizon 5G was fine.
No dump station.
18 wheelers using jack brakes on adjacent steep grade road was jarring.

I like Petersburg a lot. The sites are large and level with generous spacing. I was there in January so only sites 1-28 were open, but I walked around the closed loops, which had some spectacular sites. You will have access to free laundry, clean bathhouse, friendly staff and well maintained grounds. I could launch my kayak directly from my site, and paddle around a quiet inlet in calm water. I also camped at Watsadler and Twin Lakes, but Petersburg is a cut above.

Nice place to stay directly on the Intercoastal Waterway if you want to fish, kayak, watch luxury boats slide by, or watch birds. I’m a hiker though so was disappointed over the lack of trails.
The campground loop is wide open offering no landscaping or privacy. I have two dogs and needed to change my site for their comfort. The Camp Host informed me that to switch to an empty unreserved site, I’d have to pay for two sites, the site I originally booked as well as the new site. In my 2 1/2 years of full time camping, that was a first.

A small, off the beaten path campground with all amenities including hook ups(H2O & elec.), hot (free),clean showers in individual rooms, laundry, large well groomed campsites and miles of trails. A very friendly staff and helpful camp host do a great job of managing this lovely little campground.

Full time camper, 21’ Ford Transit Van DIY conversion.
Greenbrier Campground sits in the woods in a hollow surrounded by hills. I stayed the last weekend of Spring vacation week before going up to Gettysburg National Battlefield Park. The Park was convenient to that end and the 45 minute drive up to Gettysburg was scenically beautiful.
Camping is a good opportunity for families with young children to spend quality, healthy and memorable time together and I appreciate that fact. Because this campground is in a hollow, sound is amplified into lots of noise. Babies crying, children screaming, dogs barking, etc. was nerve wracking. The sites are open and fairly close together.
I looked into the bathhouse and decided not to use it, but the showers are hot.
I hiked the Camp Loop Trail and a section of the Red Trail which was rocky and rooty along a ridge with a steep incline.
Very nice, friendly camp hosts will greet you.

Full time camper in 20’ self styled camper van.
Level site, totally private, well spaced with lots of foliage. Bathhouse is modern with good water pressure and hot showers. Extensive, well maintained trail system within the park. Laundry at the marina. Minutes away from restaurants, shops and miles of beautiful beach.

I camped in this state park in mid-January, it was during a cold snap that had temps in the 20s at night, and there was a stiff wind blowing off the lake. Most all camp sites are on the water, and are well spaced for privacy. The bathhouse was clean and heated. I gave a four star rating because my campsite was not well maintained.

Do not miss the opportunity to camp at this coastal Maine State Park. While it may not have all convenient amenities, and yes there can be mosquitoes and black flies (bring bug spray and citronella), you will have an authentic coastal Maine experience camping on a large, private site which in most cases will be directly on Whiting Bay.

Backed 21’ camper van onto a wide level site that overlooked the Elk River. The site had plenty of privacy and a trail leading down to the red sand beach on a lovely little cove. A Bald Eagle flew overhead, and Canada Geese floated just off shore. The camping peninsula was well forested, but my site had plenty of sunshine.
The staff was very cheerful and helpful in all interactions.
The campground was packed on the weekend, but mass Sunday exodus left just a few scattered around.
Bath house was clean. I would give five stars, but shower only Luke warm.
I’ll be back.

Mid-February, site 83, a steep incline down to a 30’ level pad. Site is large with decent privacy, but access to lake is dicey due to steep embankment. No bathhouse in this loop. Free laundry at bathhouse with shower in next loop over.
The campground is well maintained, but this region of Georgia is rural with not much to offer with the exception of peace and quiet.
