En route from Gulf Islands National Seashoreto Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Beautiful park and campsite overlookinga lake. Off season, mid week was quiet. Nice, relaxing spot. Check various campsites for price, we paid $28 for lakeside 30 amp but believe there were $24 sites available.

It was cold and windy during our stay but we will definitely come back and stay during warmer weather. Lots of great sites, well maintained and quiet. Several double sites available for sharing.

We had a beautiful lakefront site for our long extended weekend. It’s a very quiet peaceful park and we’ve enjoyed our stay. The only reason for the 3 star review is because the bath houses are awful. They are in major need of an overhaul and most of our time here the toilets have been clogged and the bathrooms in need of a good cleaning.

We stayed there on March 10th, midweek and off season. They only had about 50 sites open for the winter. We ran around all the 100+ campsites and they were all fantastic. If I have my choice next time I’ll stay in #37. It’s very flat, fairly secluded and close to water. Every site is next to the lake. We didn’t use the facilities, but they were working on some of them.
So glad we have Campendium app and found the place. It was a little bit out of the way, but it saved us from having to stay in Atlanta. I’m sure that in the summer the place is packed with all the water sports and 25,000A reservoir.
Would love to go back with our family. We made reservations the day before, but wouldn’t have need to, lots of sites were open.

We stayed for three nights right on the lake. The campground is clean. There aren't restrooms near every site so you may want to keep that in mind when reserving. The sites are plenty large. We did have ants.

We had our own deck overlooking the lake and it was only $30 a night!
The campsite amenities vary widely at this location. Some, like our campsite, have wooden decks that you will step out of your RV onto. Others will be a camping pad, but have a private beach for swimming and space to beach your boat. So pick what suits you. Nearly all campsites are waterfront, but some have a rocky shoreline unsuitable for mooring a boat. I would urge caution on some of the campsites with decks. For a number of these the camping driveway slopes down to a level parking space. We did not bottom out backing into our site, but a nearby neighbor had his bumper hang up while backing in. The level parking pad is only about 30 feet long, so if you have a larger RV you may have difficulty getting level front to back. But if you can fit, these are wonderful sites.
As mentioned, restrooms can be a bit far from some of the campsites. Similarly with the dumpsters which require either a drive or bike ride.
COE parks are commonly water-oriented with few other activities. This park is a bit of an exception as in addition to the boating/fishing activities, it offers a tennis court and has some hiking/mountain bike trails closer to the dam. I did not find a formal swimming beach in the park. Possibly I missed it.
