We were on 20 hoping to get to Dubuque this evening. Got hit by incredible rain and wanted to get off the road. This came up but not much info or reviews. Relying on past experiences with city and county parks we took a chance. A pleasant surprise and Godsend. And they had lots of openings on a Friday nite!! First come first serve, cash or check self-pay, very easy. Pay was at the first building in the loop. Many pull-thrus and lots of back-ins, all plenty long enough for motor homes and fifth-wheels without unhooking. Water and 30/50 at sites, dump station at main building. Easy walk to lake. There is restrooms but did not use them. Sites are huge, lots of room between rigs. Tables and fire rings. Easy access from Highway. Would stop again if in the area. Thank you to the Conservation Board for this nice park

Loved the travel park. Just outside of Cripple Creek. Planning on coming back. It is about 45 miles off 24 outside of Colorado Springs. Very mountainous drive in with hills and turns, so if you do not like climbs and turns you may not want to drive in. But it is a good Highway, saw lots of wildlife and old gold mines. Very historic area. Now about the park- the sites are dirt, gravel and some grass. Not to level, most people had blocks to get level. We traveled in a fifth wheel and the pull-through sites we plenty long enough to stay hooked up. The park has an area of full-timers and as is usually the case with these, it was fairly trashy, but they stayed to themselves. Bath houses were clean, but could have been cleaner. Needs updating, faucets were a bit tough to deal with. Pets are welcome and plenty of room to walk them. The park has strict pet rules, make you sign a waiver about leashes and clean up. But was not enforced much. A couple of rigs had yappers that barked a lot when owners gone. They offer wi-fi, but it was weak at the travel park. You could go to hotel for good service. This is just FYI, in case this matters to you. Was not a turn-off for us. People were great. Views breathtaking. And we were lucky to have the wild burros visit the park. They are friendly and adorable. Wildlife was abundant. We will return.

Easy access off the highway. Spacious, level sites, grass and trees. Pull through Self check in. Highway noise was minimal, very quiet at night. The cows in the pasture behind was fun. Very clean. Restrooms nice. Would recommend for a night or two. Some long term residents because of their work. Perfect place for that.

This place is a gem. Easy access off 70, they cute town of Paxico. Cross railroad tracks into a haven of green and antiques. The owners Deb and Dan are great. All sites are pull-thru so unhooking or big rigs is no issue. FHU all good. Lots of open green fields with big trees dot the property. The creek borders one side. A storm shelter just in case. Nice playground and open spaces for the kiddos to burn off energy. Did not use the bathrooms or showers so cannot comment on them. Would recommend this and will stay again if in the area. There is a train track along one side, actually right behind our site, was not an issue to us but be aware there is train noise

Very nice property. Fun antiques dot the area. Beautiful, level sites with lots of room and privacy. The view out our front is amazing. Cornfields and hills. The owners are here 24/7 and keep things nice. The laundry rounded out the stay. Grass and shade. Fire pits, gravel parking area. Several pull throughs and some back ins.

Do not let the one-lane dirt road scare you off! It is barely a mile down the road but worth it. Owner operated. They live on site the lower level of their home is laundry, exercise room and restrooms. All spotless!!!! Our site was next to the lake and very peaceful. You can hear highway noise when outside but not offensive. Could not hear it in RV. We have a 32 ft Voltage fifth wheel and dually. Spot plenty long enough to stay hooked up. The hookup side of your rig is close to your neighbor hookup side, BUT we had a very spacious front yard with tree, grass table and fire ring. Definitely would stop here again. If you have young ones with you there is a great playground, sparkling clean pool and fishing ponds. Stop here!

Pulled in after many hours on the road. Had called ahead and the gentleman on the phone was very pleasant and gave us his last pull thru site with 50 amp. We get there and are greeted by a couple of kids that knew we were coming but that was it. A teenager came, he was very nice and I told him the spot number. He led us there. Place was run down, lots of full-timers which is ok but place was messy. Dogs also were running loose. Asked about this and said it was ok. Not for us. One was s very large German Shepard. My husband was attacked as a child by one of these and to this day is not comfortable around them. The spot was ok, but overhead tree posed a slight problem so we left. May be ok for a night if you do not mind dogs, it was on a side road just off 2, and quiet.
