Don’t forget your bug spray and fishing poles. A wonderful place to stop and spend some time. We had a great time. Lots of hiking and fishing. Will be stopping there again.

We came here intending on only staying a couple days BUT we ended up staying much longer since we love the hiking trails!

The spots are level and the campground is clean. Maintenance comes around daily for trash pickup and to treat the vault toilets.

The cave is closed. We were hoping to see some bats at night but we didn’t see any flying out of the cave.

Turning around to get back out again in our rig (32 ft) was challenging. So anything over 32 ft will probably be very difficult.

We stayed 1 night passing through. At first we weren’t going to due to the only review on here, but we decided to try it anyway. It was nothing like the review. Yes red dirt, I grew up with red dirt no biggie just don’t roll around in it. Besides it’s great dirt. The people were very friendly and nice. The campground was in great shape. Roads were gravel no problems there. So yes if you’re in the area need a place to stay stop here.

Doll and I stayed here for about 2 months. The place is beautiful and the people that work here are fantastic. My favorite spots in the Park are the courtyard and the garden, with their herbs and fruit trees.

The high school held their prom in the courtyard while we were here. The kids had a great time.

The RV spots are maintained well, and the motel rooms are impeccably clean. Danny, who owns the place, is a blast and he obviously takes great pride in the Park.

Each evening there are "Star Parties" hosted by Bill who is the resident expert on all things Astronomy. There are high powered telescopes onsite that Bill will help you use.

The tent areas are on raised above-ground "platforms" with a mixture of shredded tires and sand. Much more comfortable than the hard ground.

There isn't much shade in the RV areas and when we were here in June 2018, it routinely hit 105-107 degrees F.

Alpine is where most people go to shop that stay here. There are a couple of stores in town but they tend to be a bit pricey.

Bring some ear plugs though because the trains are pretty close and have there typical LONG-LONG-SHORT-LONG whistle blowing schemes going throughout the night.

Oh, and you can get propane delivered right to your rig without leaving the park! Check at the office for more info on that.

Shouts out to: Danny, Chelo, Mary, Ben, Daniel,Carmen, Sam and the others. You guys rock. See ya next year!!

This Park was “ok” but the train seems to go through every hour on the hour! Loud blaring horns. Bring earplugs!!

We would stay again if passing through the area but not for anything over a day or so.

The camphost is very nice and talkative.

The park itself doesn’t really have any amenities to speak of. They do accept Pets and there are plenty of places around to walk Fido. Be careful of snakes though, especiLly along the RR areas.

Sanderson is a very small town, sneeze and you’ll pass right through it! It’s quanite with not many stores.

Even tho we gave over a week notice to cancel our reservation they still wouldn’t issue a refund. Furthermore there is a Boil Water notice and we are NOT staying there due to that. Rob in the office refused to refund our money. Don’t stay here! Horrible customer service.

Love the old town that’s nearby. Stop by the General Store! The lady is so nice.

The Campground is clean and the folks are super nice that run the place. We had a spot that afforded us a little privacy. They have a pool, horseshoes and a laundromat. We stayed two days and would go back again.

We love boondocking and this place is rich with wildlife and lots of seclusion. We saw huge moose, deer, and if you’re a bird watcher this place is for you.

Our site was right near the river (didn’t see any fish) and it is a point at which many game trails lead to and from the water. We knew we would we see various wildlife at this location.

There are herds of free-ranging cows (all tagged) and many came right up to our rig! We saw moose every day at dusk and dawn. They were huge! We also saw a cow (momma moose) with her calf. Too cute!

We did some hiking and had a great time. There are no marked trails so use a gps or compass for long hikes so you don’t get lost.

While there are mountain lions and bears in this area, we did not see any.

The weather was chilly in the morning with lows around 41F and the highs were in the low 80s.

The road is rough with a washer-board type surface in many areas, just take it slow.
