We just spent one night here after leaving Yosemite. It was in the 40s, raining, and we wanted hookups so we decided to try this Passport America park. When I went into the office the woman told me there were no sites available and recommended another RV park a couple miles down the road. When I went back to the RV to tell Jim, she came out and said she found us a site for one night, which turned out to be a very nice, large full hook-up pull-through. Many of the other sites were very close together.
There are bathrooms and laundry but we didn't use them. It is located just a few blocks from Columbia State Historic Park, which we visited briefly in the rain. Sonora is a nice little former Gold Rush town and a good place to shop and stock up before or after Yosemite.
We only had a 3G Verizon signal and it was barely useable so we connected to the campground's wifi, which didn't work much better. We would not stay here for the regular $45 nightly rate but it was a good place to overnight for $22.50.

Love the old town that’s nearby. Stop by the General Store! The lady is so nice.
The Campground is clean and the folks are super nice that run the place. We had a spot that afforded us a little privacy. They have a pool, horseshoes and a laundromat. We stayed two days and would go back again.

It’s a rustic camp ground. We enjoyed our stay here. There are a few places to explore on foot if you have no toad. We found some great rock formations. We walked the 1/4 of a mile into the old mining town of Columbia. We were here to see the Christmas mining days. The sites are close together with lots of nice tall trees. Staff and permanent camper we’re very nice to us. We would come back I would suggest having a toad you could go to all the little towns around and visit Moaning caves close by

This place should be shut down, could not use the bathrooms, the owners should be ashamed, minor repairs and basic cleaning is expected but they obviously dont care.
With some minor repairs this campground could be a nice place, its in a great location. Boggles my mind why they dont take care of it.

If you plan to use your own facilities then you’ll like this place. Sites are fine and clean but unpaved. Anyway, it’s proximity to the small town of Columbia is the reason to stay. They accept Passport America M-Th. Please do not go into the bathrooms. Bad doesn’t describe it. Anyway, good customer service and quiet location. I definitely wouldn’t pay full price but w/ PA discount, the price is fair.

This is a park with mostly flat gravel sites, FHU, trees, peace and quiet and a great location. It is a very short walk through the boulders to the historic town of Columbia with its shops, characters and cemetery on the hill. Yosemite is a 2hr drive and Calaveras Big Trees SP about 45 min. The camp dog is a friendly fellow. WiFi was fine for streaming which was good as there is no OTA or cable.

Well organized after hours check in. The grounds are just a short 10 min walk though the woods to Columbia which is worth a visit as a living historical town - don’t walk the road, there is a trail directly from the campground

Good- full hook up shaded sites with an easy check in with a pool. Trail to town is nice.
Bad- amenities listed are not available. Do not book if you need wifi for work - it doesn’t work. Do not book if you need to use the bathrooms.. all 3 showers are out of order with 6 inches of standing water in the bottom in both the mens and womens. Misleading and overpriced for what you’re getting.
