Check in was a breeze (but call ahead if you plan to do so after 8pm). The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. Our room had a separate bedroom for the main bed and the twin size was in the living room/kitchen area. The shower is lovely and the kitchen is very helpful for small meals and snacks. WiFi is strong and the town is just around the corner for restaurants, fuel, and supplies.
Breathtakingly beautiful. We were blessed in winter with sun and excellent roads. The entire drive is stunning and the mountains do not disappoint. Most hotels on site require a two night stay so sadly we had to move on for the night but the château and other accommodations look wonderful. Highly recommend taking time to hike and explore if the weather permits. The visitors center offers some basic weather gear should you need any and has some great history of the volcano.
We went in winter (July 2022) and it was great! Not too busy and the water and landscape were spectacular. Don’t forget your swim gear and towel!
Looked like it would be a wonderful experience however is currently closed for renovations.
