Tried to visit but the details were not correct and we couldn't find it.
I wish there was more there, or even that the building was dedicated to the event. The fact that there was a business there in it's place and really only a sign in the window made it not quite the experience it could have been. However, this is still a cool spot, just to be there and know some of the history. It would have been okay if there were some places nearby to stop, but everything was closed and it seemed like a sleepy little town.
There wasn't much there, but to be in a historic site and looking up the history before, it really was kind of cool. Great place to pull off and stretch the legs for a few minutes before continuing on.
So we stopped by the gift shop and saw a few of the main attractions... this was a fine half hour stop over to stretch the legs and have bathroom breaks on a long trip. Great for our young child. They had a bowl full of cheap stamps so that she could use some of her change to buy several. Some of the stamp artwork is really cool. They also had some really old sports cards and a little history of the area. We liked it.
We went buy last year, no notice on site at that time, but indeed it was gone.
Nice little photo moment. It was a fun short stop on a long trip for our toddler and a good chance to do a quick stretching of the legs before resuming on.
Great old school fountain and candy store. We really loved our little side trip here. On a warm summer day on a long trip, this was a nice little stop over.
Nice free (although I recommend a donation) stop to stretch the legs, interesting sculptures made of mostly cement and broken glass bottles. I would have given it a 5 except for the fact that it was really dangerous to go to with my daughter with how much glass is exposed and fallen onto the ground. They have a nice little gift shot with local art work too!
Only 3 types of animals to see. 2 Black bears, 2 tigers, and 2 hyenas. We drove an hour and wete quite disappointed this is billed as a zoo.
