Thousand Trails site. Has seen better days. All of the amenities were in poor shape with peeling paint. The staff was friendly and the grass was green. Wild turkeys wandered throughout property. They had regular social events at the community center but we didn't attend any. The proximity to the NP was great though.

Very green and spacious park but our site was especially tight. Research carefully on site spacing when choosing what site you reserve.

The host was super nice and even though they were full they found an overflow site for us and the host even let us borrow his 30amp power extension to have power hookup for a cooler night.

It is sad that I can't give this place a glowing review. The trails here were absolutely amazing and unique. We camped in May and the early morning hours were the only time we could be outside of the camper as the bugs swarmed in and tried to take us away beyond that. The campsites are well pretty well spaced out and they had a lot to choose from. There were both vault toilets and regular bath houses which were dated but acceptable. Not a lot of trees in the camping areas but plenty of grass.

It's somewhat in the middle of nowhere and the roads coming in where paved but a little rough and there is a hairpin turn that may cause other rigs to redirect. Keep and eye out for that when route planning.
The site itself was beautiful with FHU for $35 plus tax just under $38 altogether.

There isn't a ton to do in the park but it was pretty and our dog enjoyed the walks. Bring your boat/kayak water access is everywhere. Otherwise limited recreation opportunities.

We didn't have a reservation the week before Memorial Day weekend. They had several sites still available and the self registration notes were easy to understand to determine what was available. They accepted cash or pay with card the next day a the ranger stand.
They didn't have the grass cut when we arrived but you could tell they were getting ramped up for the holiday weekend as the grass cutting extravaganza began after we arrived.
The trails at the park were beautiful. Getting to the day use of the park was not too far away but you do need a vehicle to get there from the campsite. There were not too many amenities nearby. We did find a disc golf course about 15 minutes away that was fun.
